Never made beats misen. Tried making house traks on aby in the past but everything I made ended up sounding like speeded up hip hop anyways so soon give that up. I would be willing to try though and just enter for the fun of it. Which is gunna mean remembering all the aby keyboard shortcuts again. How do u lads go about it do you sample bars of stuff from old records or do u use one shots or just programe the sounds from scratch???

U seem to be developing your own sort of sound miggy lad. I dont think I have the right to tell ya what u shud concentrate on because ultimately that will define u as a dj. If I cud offer any advice though id say maybe work on some basic cuts chirps,repeats,transforms and mix em in with the techniques your already comfy at. I myself since having innofafer boost have revisited chirps and stabs recently to sharpen up my technique. Id say its improved my sound slightly.

I presume you mean in like a 4 track way. I tried a few years back when I first got aby 8 But ended up recording backing track as well. I think I had to route output to a separate amp or sumet but never bothered. But my a8 has a fair few ins and outs on it so I dont see why not. I'll grip a few leads tomoz and have another go at it. I used to have fun with my cassette 4 track back in da day wud be gud to get back into it.

I have aby routed to an a8 there's a procedure where u can compensate for latency but never bothered with it.

I play early house 88-95 I rekon if I cud put something similar together over that genre it wud go off. The clubs in hull mainly play newer house or early stuff which is the reason I play what I play when gigging I suppose its a reigonal cultural thing. We have had some legends play in hull though cutmaster swift, perverts, dj noise etc and had good crowds turn up.

How long do you usually take to compose a routine jon? And whats your thought process when doing it. Do you go in with a predetermined idea of roughly what u wanna do or do I trial and error it and just play about with stuff till summet catches your ear. The reason I ask is because of the way u casually say Oh and while I did that other routine (which would take to s mere mortals yonks to dream up) I did another. Sorry to pick your brains dude and by the way I thought both routines rocked. also Have u ever done a house style set? And how would u approach it?

I just had a go at it and struggled like fook. Its more of a house tempo in places which left me with a limited amount of techniques available. No point me posting as erics effort shit peanuts at mine lol.

Jimmys got flow but im tilting towards red mist, if a vid makes me wanna watch it over and over to clock the techniques then thats usually the one for me!! One of jons vids I seen had that same effect a while back it made me wanna study it. I rip em to mi phone watch em in asda car park,eating mi breakfast blah blah. So for me red mist!

No probz ez erick I have it in my looper folder I cut with it that often. I go for vocal cuts as basic as I can get em on the chorus parts and then go into some ahhs n that on the other. The tempo of it allows ya to get quite expressive its cool. Our lass is gettin a bit sick of it now tho bless her donnay socks!!
