  1. I honestly don't know. It says something about my knowledge on this that my first thought was Masta Ace and his album A Long Hot Summer and that was released in 2004.
  2. As far as I can tell, the s7 does everything the s9 did and more but doesn't have as much going as as the s11 with the screen and extra gubbins. Somewhat like the difference between the Rane 70 and Rane 72. S9 will probably get discontinued so the s7 and s11 are it now in terms of the top end of two-channel DVS mixers from Pioneer.
  3. Watched the Mr Thing and Harry Love ones. Thing comes across really well - seems to be a genuine, down to earth and humble guy who knows who he is and is content with it. Doesn't seem to hold much animosity about the Scratch Perverts thing and is pretty philosophical about it all. He's clearly moved on. Harry Love seems like he might not be in the best of places at the moment.
  4. I think KRS-One was being a fucking nob on that show. He seemed like he just wanted to get into an argument. He tried to imply that he gets no love from Radio 1, while he was live on Radio 1. Westwood played a bunch of his songs and segments of his live shows. He accused Westwood of saying that he'd fallen off and that he had a recording of him saying it, but when Westwood said he wanted to hear the tape, he changed the subject. He said that Westwood used to show him love, but no longer does, which Westwood responded to by saying that he had contacted KRS's management multiple times to try and get him on the Rap Exchange radio show he did with Funkmaster Flex in NYC, but KRS never responded. KRS then tried to imply that the people on the streets were saying that Westwood doesn't play real hip-hop and blah, blah, blah - he just seemed like he was salty about his latest album not selling as well as the previous ones, and was taking it out on Westwood. Oh yeah, I remember that. It was sometime around 1996 iirc. Yeah, KRS was being a knob.
  5. Yep, me too. Gets tiring listening to it - I just want to say to Yoda 'Let the music play!' (cue Shannon coming on)
  6. Good call. Yeah Slyce is good but IMO Total should have won. IIRC Craze's needle broke causing some issues. And then that's why is 1998 he came out the gate with the intro that was something like "got dissed last year... so Im kicking ass this year" which was also meta as fuck with it being Lord Finesse hosting. I always that about the whole Craze intro to that routine - all Lord Finesse vocal snippets with the man standing right next to him.
  7. Old thread but picked this up on DVD the other day and watched it last night - great stuff. Started listening to some of the shows on YouTube now. I only remember hearing about the show back in the mid-late 90s when I was reading HHC.
  8. If your mate said this to you down the pub after one too many, you'd be like "WTF are you talking about you pissed up cunt?", but nobody calls out folks like this in interviews. KRS-One is probably the worst, but there has to be more examples...... I love the idea of the RZA spouting this tosh in the pub. 'Just ignore him lads - he gets like this when he's had a few zambucas.'
  9. Hopefully it's clear now. Good - got it. My wife's a Maths teacher - she'd have a field day with this bollocks.
  10. Stumbled across this on YouTube this morning:https://youtu.be/bknSyjcVlBU Was interested that she is described as a turntablist - she's obviously coming from a different musical background than most people who describe themselves as turntablists. As far as I understand, she reworks her own compositions and recordings on turntables as an improvised live remix. I personally find it a bit of a challenging listen but I don't know her compositions so maybe I'm missing the nuance. Thoughts?
  11. You should do some more.
  12. Steve, just been listening to this today for the first time. This is fucking brilliant - love it!

  17. Apologies if this has ever been posted before, but someone has put together all the samples from Paul's Boutique against the album and in sync - quite an achievement:
  18. How he described the split of the crew is exactly the way it came across at the time, like Tony and Prime Cuts had gone a bit up their own arses with their success. Sounds like some of the recent years have been humbling for him and have allowed a bit of perspective on his behaviour back then. I'm glad he said that stuff.
  19. You should find reverse in the 'Mixer' tab in the Set up screen: https://support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/223446728-Mixer That should work in controller mode. Of course, if you want to double up the VCI 380 as a mixer (which I do), you can't adjust the setting because there's no physical reverse switch on the hardware.
  20. The CF reverse option is in the settings tab, I think. I'll check and get back to you.
  21. Let me know how you get on, Dirk. I have a vci 380 and was contemplating an upgrade to an innobender. But before you do anything with the fader, have you checked your settings in Serato DJ Pro? There is a crossfader reverse option in there, I think.
