Fair enough, I managed to justify it by using it to diversify my music collection. Have cancelled it since.
I'm sure I'm stating the obvious but the definition of clean seems to vary wildly!

Thanks for the help Rasteri!

Thanks for the responses. They don't have the switches under the platter.
I'm thinking that if the other models have the switching facility it shouldn't be that hard to retrofit a switch or to change the voltage, but perhaps I'm being hopeful!

Anyone know if its possible/ how easy it is to change the voltage on a pair of technics sl1200 mk5s?
I bought a pair in Japan years ago, so they're 100V and don't have the platter switch.
It'd be nice not to have to use a transformer with them.

West End Dj have one, it's signed by Jazzy Jeff!
It wasn't set up when I went in about a week ago, but they got it out so I could take a look at it.
Prefer Juno over West End Dj tbh, always found their customer service very good.

I think the tracklist is good and it's well mixed/put together for the most part, it's a mix of well known and lesser known stuff which often works as the listener appreciates being put on to other stuff they might not have heard before. I think you could make a bigger deal of the intro or first track to grab people's attention, listeners who don't know you will rarely make it through a mix to find the scratchy bits etc which the DJ has put most time into, unless they were impressed by the intro. I always think if I don't grab people's attention with the first track or intro they're unlikely to persevere to the end. If they listen for music content then I may as well be making an unmixed podcast, so if you're going to take the time to scratch and trickmix get a lot in at the beginning.
I've found that mixes with a bit of a theme and perhaps artwork tend to get more interest, worth putting the time into.
You do some nice trick mixing with snare sounds but I would probably say there's a bit much of the pressing the start button effect. For my tastes once or twice is nice but I do try to vary my transitions if I'm not mixing the next track in - Just my opinion though of course. Also watch out for keeping everything in time if you do stop the music suddenly, if the restart's not in time re-do it and edit it out. Remember everyone's making their "mix" on ableton these days and the computer's doing all the work so people aren't used to not-quite-perfectly in time sounds anymore and are less forgiving!
Also I would say use that start button effect only at the end of a bar, any earlier and doesn't sound right.
I'm forever trying to make my basic scratches that I can use to bring in tracks sound better (babies and chirps) so I'd say work a bit on those for a bit of variation as you're clearly able with the mixing and some turntablism aspects already. I spend hours cutting up two copies of the same record and just working on the scratches to bring the other one in, and listen a lot to people like Mr Thing or the X-Ecutioners who have really funky chirps and it makes their mixes sound really good...Very few DJs could say they couldn't get better at that...
Some hopefully constructive feedback but I enjoyed it, keep putting them out as there's always an audience for good hip hop..Here's definitely a good place to get quality feedback too. I got a lot of handy tips from Steve, hopefully he chips in too!
Thanks for taking time to give such detailed feed back, it's very much appreciated!

I've got one kicking about in a draw somewhere. I bought a spare from trusound, which I didn't end up needing.
http://www.trusound.co.uk/product.php?product_id=78
Will sell it at cost (£16) plus postage.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll dig it out

Don't know where you are in the country, but I'm in the south east and use Steve at Trusound
He sorted out a PMC 07 for me a while ago and I'm about to send him a pdx motor to sort out the platter wobble.
Reasonably priced and knows his stuff!

Fallout 4. It took awhile to get into, but now I'm loving it!
Spent a lot of time playing the Witcher 3 last year and would like to buy the DLC at some point. Thought the story was very good and liked the way the decisions you make can have consequences.
Next big purchase will be Uncharted 4 when it comes out, but may pick up Battlefront before then if the price drops enough.

I had a similar issue on one of my technics after I shipped them back from Japan. Turned out the platter had somehow been bent (I blame customs!). I bought a replacement platter of ebay and it fixed the problem. If you've got pair try swapping the platters to see if the issue follows the platter or remains with the turntable. Good luck!

Got mine today. Totally flat, nice weight and some good samples on it. A very happy customer, now if only I had a turntable with ultra pitch!

Thanks for the feedback Steve. You confirmed my suspicions, that I need to spend more time scratching. I've been focussing more on juggling the past year or so. Just ordered Cadence With Rhythm And Flow, so that should get me back on the cut. Will post a video at some point soon.

Cheers Steve! I'd be interested to know what you think of the mix.
Forum looks good, always looking for sources of inspiration!
