figured it out. at some point i must have accidentally saved my default workstation without the mixer.... durrrrr. problem solved

@x2k mpc is set to the correct channels. i have reason on B. so i select the channel and assign B in the mpc. but i do 2B and up it wont play sound. however 1B works. im stumped

havent tried that yet. i give it a whirl when i get home. it used to work just fine. i havent used it in a while and now suddenly its acting up. anyway ill post an update later, thx

im using an mpc as the midi. So in reason, i select a rack from the drop down and assign to channel 1, no problem. i have control and sound. however suddenly when i select anything to channel 2 and so on, the meter jumps and recognizes its being played, but no sound.... any suggestions?

yea he was a trip. sampling is a composition tho. but at the same time i understand why an artist would get pissed for someone making money off ur shit. "stealing" ur melody as it were. i hear techno riffs getting redone by rap producers and sometimes it really works well. duno if any techno producers got all namby pamby bout it tho. i try to make my own melodies all the time but theres just something about the process of sampling that feels really special

just watched this documentary the other day on instant watch netflix. pretty interesting. i never realized how incredibly bitten the funk drummer skit actually was. i knew i recognized it from a few tracks but damn! i amost wana send stubblefield a few bucks

wrd im from there. mpls has one of the best hiphop scenes imo. 2 record stores that are a must: root cellar in st paul and cheapo in uptown.

they use dope samples. i like them in the first 3 albums. i remember i went record shopping at a thrift store and found the record they used for san francisco knights or another song. anyway, its by walter wandele. @jopa - u from mpls?

tried the mac11 you guys mention and it is pretty dope. however my favorite hands down is the famas with red dot. hacker, hardline, steady aim. i cannot be fcked with!

does anyone have iphone tethered to ps3? the plan is for 4gb but im one of the few who still has unlimited data and am wondering if its worth the conversion? i did a data report for the past yearand a half and it seems with as much as i use my phone now i only use up about 1gb a month. i guess converting to the 2gb at theleast wouldnt affect me. but the tether plan requires the 4gb plan which is $45. is it worth it?

i was reading on mpc forums and read someone mentioning a 440. personally never heard of it but then i looked it up on vintage synth and it soundz like a dope little box. then i check ebay and theres one for sale for 5000$. anyone ever mess with one or know a song made on one? not that i can afford it but im just curious.

i have finally figured it out. i didnt know when translator formats a disk it automatically installs the os. so after formatting the disk i pop into the asr. at loading i get "please insert disk". i was pretty distraught and figured my flash reader was done for. i decided to pop the hood one last time (which is a pain and a half because theres a billion screws. im checking it out and every thing is connected. i start tugging on wires and wala! i find the culprit. not sure what kind of wire it is, but its the adapter to the reader thats black and red. when i tugged the wires the red one was completely loose and came right out the socket. i pushed it back in and wrapped a little tape around it to keep it in place. plugged the asr and hit the switch. finally i get what i was hoping for... "loading system". ive been without my flash card for over a year and now im back in business. i feel like a turd tho, while troubleshooting last year i ignorantly erased everything on the card. i have most of them on my hard drive, but i dont have the ones with all the samples i personally chopped. oh well, never again. and thats how children are made
