  1. i bought this record along with about 20 of other good funk records http://youtu.be/qvdI7_lNl-U
  2. The IQ making me itch scratch was pretty sick Fakster Pump me Up also sickening I think IQ comes off slightly more original than Fakser, based on originality id say IQ, based on technical skills id say Fakser. Can't vote yet, maybe i won't as both deserve to win
  3. hes off beat on many parts, i personally like to hear something simple on beat rather than the advanced off beat stuff, sometimes ppl need to relax and not try so hard on the cut, then the funk comes in. I often just scratch forwards like the Knights of The Turntables did on Techno Scratch, simple but dope as f*** still good performance by chin
  4. from me as well, when you do a session with others there need to be other sounds in between the aahs & freshs, else it gets boring. Im not sure why most turntablists don't get that. Good jam overall, made me want to join in.
  5. personally to me the scratching is the easiest part in making a scratch song..i produce beats but most of the time they end up unfinshed or not liking the beat i made..once im satisfied then i put some scratch sounds together and finish the track..i wish i spend more time in creating songs then i would make an EP and release it on vinyl..i got a few tracks im pleased with maybe 1 or 2 more and ill release it next year. The soundcloud file i showed here is based on a few loops rather than a selfproduced beat..let me know what you think..making beats i want to focus on before i make a new track.
  6. thats dope....i use my MPC for looping etc..and just cut over that..you are approaching it differently but thats better if you are doing it on a live level..or making live compositions..i want to buy a midikeyboard and connect that to my MPC
  7. thanks Symatic, i never used loop pedals, i don't think my mixer (HAK 380) has a footswitch connector..not sure if the effects send/return function can be used for that?
  8. it takes a lot of effort to make a scratch composition, i personally rather just freestyle but i do make scratch music occasionally https://soundcloud.com/defcreator/dj-jeff-the-king-of-the-cuts
  9. https://soundcloud.com/defcreator/couple-beats-to-scratch-on 3 different beats, unfinished, depending on if ppl like this ill work on the most favorable one for a proper track and make it as long as needed.
  10. Don't get me wrong Steve, i like anything with Lil Wayne on it as well
  11. you think a cold kick without any work is nice? that beat is colder than the northpole..i would never want to cut on that fair one but thats your choice,,,,,or are you just sticking up for your click member No, i didn't like any of the beats used for the battle..but apart from the choice of beats i think Steve did/does a good job organizing this battle..i got a pair of 12s from Ruftone as promised..well organized it is
  12. you think a cold kick without any work is nice? that beat is colder than the northpole..i would never want to cut on that
  13. I remember they had Silver Bullet performing over here at the Paradiso in between the competition, they dropped Bring Forth the Guillotine and 20 seconds to Comply, most acts were crap though. I also remember the BBC showing some footage of The Royal Albert Hall in 88, cant imagine the BBC doing this now, they should bring a crew to The Indigit O2.
  14. I got this beat in my MPC with a New Cleus sample and bassline, the drums are DMX...ppl might like that to cut on (or not lol)
  15. i didnt feel the intro of this beat at all so i felt both were also not really comfortable with it..as it changed it got better ..i always liked wordplay in scratching so Fakser got a extra point for that...i would have liked IQ to have used a couple more sounds but nonetheless his cuts are the illest in this whole competition both are equally talented with different styles imo, the pump me up routine made me vote for Fakser though
  16. lol@me talking to myself here, its time to hit the road fellas..outa here..peace!
  17. Used by Mix Master Mike a lot also heard in ISP live gigs. i had the Def Jam Sampler but sold it along many other records that were good but not good enough to keep..Def Jam was at its best before it went "black" Colombia...the purple sleeves had the hard hittin DMX or LINN drumbeats by Rick Rubin & MCA talking about 80s compilations this is the one that i would never sell..pre-1984 electro hiphop made for breakdancin'..(but who cares here lol)
  18. the only thing i love on CD is Britney Spears live in concert <3333333 Will everybody please leave Britney alone??? *tears rolling down*
  19. this is called 80s soul music...its fits in the same category as 70s soul only its more electronic the hiphop stuff on the streetsoundslabel is called "electro funk" or just electro..not to be confused with electro house wich doesnt remotely come close to the original electro New Cleus is the best example of electro funk along with Jonzun crew and many others from that era. I like 80s soul..now all we have is R&B or rap wich doesnt have much soul anymore
  20. then you might as well only have 1 skilled DJ scratching the whole damn track the beat is dope, i wonder how hes gonna mix those 200 freestyles together without messing up
  21. this is the best money can buy, used it 3 years, pocket size, WAV, unlimited (depends on the size of the sd card of course)
  22. a repress is mostly recognized by the label printing..i can tell the OG Planet Rock from the repress..not that it matters to me as music is music..as long as the quality of pressing is fine the original Beat Bop is worth about $1000..the repress $10..i got the repress as idc about having something extremely valuable..i would sell the original if i had it
  23. my experience with UK 45rpm 12inch pressings is that they sound worse than the originals..talking about the Tommy boy and Sugarhill releases from the 80s..for some reason they decided to release them at 45 rpm..the original US pressings of 80s jams i only buy..i made the mistake of ordering at HTTR not realizing they mostly sell overprized bad quality UK releases. reissues are often more warped than the originals..i got a warping machine but it doesnt get rid of vertical warps..only horizontal wich is obvious of course i also do sell records..i dont like keeping too many things..only keeping the best quality ones..so i basically rather have a small good quality collection than a huge collection with records that are not that good. My collection consists of hiphop, electro funk, soul, new wave and some 90s boombap although idc much about the 90s anymore as the 80s is the best decade in music imo. as far as the current releases..occasionally i buy something post 2000..i bought the 1st nu-electro record from streetsounds..ppl still make good electro although ppl often mistake the real electro with the house electro wich is not my style..electro funk basically is a total different genre wich the mainstream is oblivious about.
  24. thanks, ill make an ep in 2014 with 5 or 6 tracks, i would like to press 100 copies if the money is right..otherwise ill make it a digital download
