  1. thanks broke, mighty atom @wax too many to mention nowadays, Deska i think is the best Technical scratch DJ in the world, he would nail anybody here if he battled us...from the old school some of my fav Djs are Daddy Rich, Born Allah, Wax Master Torey (rip) etc..etc..and going way back to the 80s The Knights Of The Turntables (prob the first west coast DJ scratch crew) another vid..recorded some weeks ago
  2. To the Tom Tom Club, my fav girly band all time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hj1-dBGhCQ
  3. most samples im using are stereo from original records, occasionally i use battle sounds wich are probably mono recorded so with those ill mono record...im also gonna drop some beats over the loop so it will be best to just record them in stereo and the short stabs/sounds in mono. Currently im keeping it simple with an 8-track recorder, i dont have too much space for a bigger one and im also trying to keep away from audio interface software recording (not patient enough to work with a laptop lol, i just want to press real rec buttons) Anyway thanks, work in progress
  4. ive always recorded my cuts in stereo but come to think of will it make a difference if i just record in mono and just pan the individual tracks left to right to create a stereo effect? the reason why im asking is im working on a new song but it will be faster and easier to record in mono and it will safe a lot of space on my multitrack recorder (and eventually less DAW editing)
  5. @Steve, Wax On & Pete thanks, hard times right now..really tough after 2 years close relationship..hopefully around spring ill have my energy back to be back in business
  6. actually i cannot listen to any music at the moment, its quiet around the house till im over it then i slowly will enjoy doing music again..it takes time to heal and im not sure how much time i need..maybe weeks or even months..we had our problems and fights so in the long term she made the right descicion i guess..can't turn back time but i wish i'd done things differenty..i do have regrets we learn from our mistakes..i'll miss her
  7. my next track will be a sampled beat from Cool C's "Juice Crew" Dis"..it will be simple in terms of creativity but i'll try to do some more complex cuts Me and my gf just broke up so im a bit depressed and not in the mood to make music for a while, when i get my energy back to normal ill work on it and im by no means a good producer..most of my beats i dont like so they just stay on the shelves aka on my CF cards till i get some motivation to remix them
  8. classical music is great for sampling the only classical record i own is the VHB jk
  9. im not offended by what he said it was quite enjoyable actually, if he feels offended by what other DJs say then that's his own choice..just saying he seemed hurt by other ppl's opinions...prob cause he is using a controller himself aha yes it is an enigma wrapped up DJ Enigma
  10. The guy in the video is the guy that started this thread. that's good, i hope he reads it
  11. he seems really butthurt over nothing basically...almost to the point of crying... maybe he needs to chillout and accept the freedom of speech on the netz and yes there is a difference between real and fake djs just like there are a lot of fake rappers out there who never heard of Captain G-Wiz and Grandmaster Caz
  12. what ya'll know about Grand Dragon KD? first transform recorded on plastic that's right, he even playbacked it on TOTP
  13. Short-E doesn't have a clue about the originators so she listens to what ppl like Qbert say and then makes her own tutorial video based on that. The real Joe Cooley scratch can be heard in the intro on a cut called "Your Chance To Rock" I already mentioned the Howie Tee scratch in some old thread last year, he inspired me to chirp like that. Here is the Joe Cooley transform i recreated, i believe he was the first to do the double speed like that
  14. imo opinion the best and most original music was made before sampling and even drummachines, talking about the funk and P-Funk from the late 70s early 80s EDM = soulless & pure fakeness, i cannot stand listening even 10 secs to that garbage with that fake whore in the chorus On a good note ppl still seem to buy records, more than in like 93 so that means enough still care about quality music..where i live i sometimes still do some digging..they still seem to do good business
  15. they got turntable toystore on ebay so if this fails then they could always sell those limited edition records there and on their site... i have a very limited edition 05 pro-SL face plate here, im willing to sell it for the friendly price to those who still live on bread and water for only 1.0000000 roebels wich is aboput 100000 pounds hit me up on fakebook for details...ps free shipping only for Europe europe
  16. the faders on the DJM 7000/800/900 etc... are mad cheap compared to Rane...At least that 4ch DJ Tech mixer has a mini innofader build in..but thats more like a scratch mixer than a club mixer i owned both the DJM 707 and 909..reason for selling was i needed full dry fx so i got the HAK 380..the only problem with the 380 is that it doesnt have seperate fx for each channel like the HAK 360 but the 360 doesnt have full dry/wet feature..neither does the NUO 2.0 wich i had as well. I think ill stick with the 380 for now..i got it new for 250 GBP (325 euro) so it was a bargain for me..usually they go for 500/600
  17. takes about an hour to record but the idea i had for a couple of weeks so i collected the records i needed and just multitracked..after the cuts are done i edit in the software adjusting volumes etc..usually it takes 2 or 3 takes before im happy with the cuts..sometimes the first take goes well
  18. scratchin over Arthur Baker beats, a lil megamix inspired by Treach DJ Mr. Mixx, Joe Cooley and DJ Man
  19. where the hell is the thudrumble website??? when i google thudrumble.com all i see is this kickstarter bs
  20. done deal, ill paypal you the amount nice to get a bargain on DV, ill spend the left-over 200 on CDs by PM Dawn and Kiss AMC lol
  21. then i came across this LMFAO!!! http://www.ebay.nl/itm/50cm-RCA-Cinch-Stecker-Auf-Buchsen-Verlangerungskabel-Anschluss-/190691967359?pt=DE_Computing_Audiokabel_Adapter&hash=item2c6620817f&_uhb=1
  22. http://www.templeofdeejays.com/ This is where they sell the "Scratch Science" records based in France, cheap prices, its best to order more than 2 records at the same time wich will lower the shipping a piece...they also carry hiphop vinyl and merchandise..but its the best place to get battle/scratch records in Europe As mentioned hhv.de..they have a large (prob the largest in entire Europe) hiphop selection with listening before buying option and fast cheap shipping by DHL...had good experience with them..very reliable and they refund without any problem if not satisfactory.
  23. thanks a lot! just 1 or 2 more tracks and i'll release an EP this year
  24. found some time to do a new cut again, took me about an hour to record the scratches, the beat was made a month or 2 ago, anyway enjoy https://soundcloud.com/defcreator/fire-it-up-edit
