  1. The Inno PNP on the Xone:23 it's an on/off cut, can't get sharper than that, it depends on the mixer of course. Also i remember on the Xone:02 it was tight when i placed 3 Inno PROs in it. I never tried the mini version, but i don't think i ever need that, maybe if i ever get one of those TRX mixers.
  2. Yoko Ono & Sonny Bono would have been a great couple together, perfect match
  3. $500 and he will show you some record stores???? *travel and accomodation not included* Seriously who will throw his money away to do that? Also i sold all his old vinyl albums as i never played them and now he's asking $40 or something for not so great classics. $1000 and he will scratch on my own production? yep sure, id rather have someone like Rakim or Large PRO spitting some verses instead.
  4. haha i went to the Philipines..Bohol to be exact..great place for swimming and diving..Alona beach..also the Loboc river wich is the most beautiful river i ever saw..check that if u plan to go pz
  5. hey whattup ED..i just came back from a long trip to asia i havent been online for over a month..we had bad wifi connection in our hotel ..i just noticed all my vids were set to private accidenty so i just switched them to public dayum what a culture shock to be back in amsterdam again
  6. One of the first DJ scratch crews along with Knights of The Turntables who battled each other back in the day..way back pre Scratch Picklz, my man DJ Steve C of legendary Majestic Crew gave me 2 signed and sealed copies of his classic "Thee untold Story" they go for about 200 quit these days, very rare and one of the best West Coast classics (imo) So i made a scratch remix, thanks DJ Steve C for his generousity https://soundcloud.com/defcreator/thee-untold-scratch
  7. Thats a Howie Tee Scratch, Qbert got it wrong, im sure he'll agree with that Howie Tee invented that in 86 as he displayed on the vid "Bang Zoom" Joe Cooley invented a different chirp pattern wich can be heard on "Your Chance to Rock" 2 different chirp patterns wich ppl get mixed up
  8. thats why i didnt buy the PLX-1000, im sure neither Qbert, Shortkut and D-Styles will ever say the PLX tonearms are badly calibrated in public since they're doing pr swowcases for Pioneer but when i saw this i knew Hanpin will never get it straightened out, it's for a good reason why Technics are the best decks ever made, ppl who love bells and wistles claim the RP-8000 is the best (Fong Fong) but that deck has issues as well.
  9. Yep agree, many great rap tracks from the 90s wrere made with either the MPC60 or the SP-1200, only around 10 secs of sampling time, the way they did it is speeding the original track up in order to gain time, then slowing it down in the 12-bit sampler getting that special "sound"..on top of that just horn stabs or guitar riffs etc. the most important part of making a beat is getting the right kick and snare to match the sample, to layer like 3 differnt kicks on top of each other, thats what marley marl did on "the bridge" he used and 808 kick or ghost kick what he calls it underneath the sampled kick (think it was Impeach the President), also a big factor why many producers stopped sampling whole bits is the money claims and law suits that were becoming problematic, some labels had to pay big money just to clear samples, music is greedy business. One of my fav looped tracks....who knows what sample Easy Mo Bee used? fuck flipping slicing and whatnot, this is just perfect the way it is, a loop, couple of sounds and a sequenced beat.
  10. got a message from soundcloud that after the pro plan anything uploaded within the pro-plan period will be muted after i switch back to basic so basically its better to stay a basic member then you can keep your uploads public and for free f them lol
  11. haha thanks, i was never really a d&b fan but this sample needed a beat like that
  12. my mom has no idea what im doing with her old record https://soundcloud.com/defcreator/retro-flava-in-your-ear
  13. anything by Milli Vanilli and the Wee Papa Girl Rappers and this
  14. I wonder why DJ Irie ended up in the 3rd place????? even though he fellow Dutchman i would have placed him 9th, he just don't have that special factor to be in the top 5, wonder why Cutmaster Swift voted him first??? My prediction was that I-Dee would win when we chatted about the competitors in the park here, although his selection is like fast food music that i'm not feeling i think his skills are up to par, i prob would have voted him 1st too. I liked The Beat Molester set with the vid mixing. Vekked was dope too, i expected more from that French guy, lol 1 DJ used a controller, still made in in the top 10, i liked it more than Irie's set.
  15. damn straight up talent there..chile beats dope coming from that electribe synth
  16. @Doppelkorn, I actually don't have any KRS music in my collection, never went to his shows, last time a friend asked me a few weeks back but i was peedicting too much preaching would be going on. But i respect him for his contribution to the culture. I think you were on the rag when you placed that comment its ok if youre into rapping clowns, peace!
  17. thanks, new mix coming soon yes LA is definetely one of the coolest places, forget the Hollywood stuff we see on tv..wouldnt mind living there
  18. that's not hiphop, im sure all the pioneers wont label that as hiphop either who ever listens to that will grow out of it and move on..my generation can still listen to the stuff made 20-30 years ago
  19. thanks a lot! yes it wasn't entirely westcoast, a mixture of some miami jams as well (Pretty Tony) Been in LA twice, one of my fav cities (apart from the gangculture)..its actually a really friendly place with helpful ppl..when we were travelling around many times ppl come up to us and ask where we from and show us the way. Also we went to Amoeba the famous record store, thats where i bought some west coast gems from the Techno Hop label. Also been in Phoenix, Vegas and San Jose and San Fransisco during that time but LA definetely my fav place hence i made that mix. cheers
  20. this was a typical West coast beat wich i still dig so i made a mix like a month ago njoy
  21. yeah Scarface pioneered the southern rap along with others, cant forget the Def IV from Houston but they sounded more east coast How about Dice from Detroit up north? this ish is from 92, the intro beat slow 808, one of the dopest scratches on an intro album
  22. Mid 80s miami bass influenced the dirty south, "ghetto bass" by the 2-live crew is a good example This gotta be one of the first drumroll 808 beats, also the "Just Ice Put that record on" beat was an 808 drumroll type. Basically producer Mantronix started it all, he'll always be the king of the beats. TLA Rock "Bassmachine" 1986
