  2. 1 of many other great tracks from the 80s....1982-1986 was the golden age of electro funk
  3. some ugly mixers ive had in the past: Xone:2, Xone2:02, PMC07, PMC05-ProII clean and dope azz dope patterns there..props
  4. best pfunk track ever, anyone ever heard something funkier?
  5. In my opinion hiphop went down the drain from 97 when all the jiggy nonsense became world wide accepted by the masses. The masses dictate what we listen to on the radio. The majority of DJs gotta play what the program director tells them to play. Its all about the money and i understand that cause nobody wants to be poor. But its not making me happy. The undergrouind never died but it became even more underground and to be honest the underground used to be better. I don't hear much originality anymore. Specificly in hiphop and dance music. Few exeptions. As far as DJing goes, Sync or not most of them gotta play what the people wanna hear or else they will be out of a job. The club and radio owners hire the DJ to entertain the crowd and not make them wanna leave. And the crowd concists mostly of young people who don't understand much about real DJing, they dont care as long as they are entertained by popular music. Im talking about the masses. Not the selected people who have a genuine interest in good music and art. On the Sync button aspect. i compare it with using a drumcomputer vs a real drummer. A real drummer is a craftsman vs a kid using beat software is an amateur. You simply cannot say that the kid using the software and never practiced on a drumset that he is a drummer. Nor can You say that the kid who doesn't know how to beatmatch turntables is a DJ. He's just a wanabe DJ but NOT a real DJ.
  6. Ok thanks, yeah it won't be difficult to replace, ive ordered a pair of prenium golden plugs so ill first just attach them top the excisting cable and see if that makes any difference. If not then ill order some good quality cables.
  7. Got a pair of second hand M5Gs and one deck sounds better than the other with the same cart. The better sounding deck has high quality custom RCA cables and the other one just the regular red/white RCAs. I'm not sure if replacing the cables on my other deck will improve the sound and i know ill have to do some soldering etc wich im not very good at. Anyone ever replaced their cables? Did it make a difference?
  8. The Shure M44/Gs have a better soundquality than the M44/7s, even less recordwear cause they hold the groove pretty good at only 0.75-1.5 gramms. Thinking about buying a couple of needles to place them on my 44/7s.
  9. thanks Vekked...btw i voted for the first rock sample routine
  10. Last bump on this thread... an old A-Trak beat with mostly vocal cuts..i don't do these type of things much anymore as it takes a lot of time to complete...i rather just scratch on a hook or something like premier etc..but anyway enjoy (or not lol) http://soundcloud.com/freezeforze/unda-control
  11. @Steve yeah i try to stay away from the aaah and fresh stuff as much as possible....ive seen qbert using it too many times and sometimes i get bored with it....i mostly use it just for practice/freestyles as a convenience
  12. haha i actually never heard that track before, im still not using DVS so i'd have to buy the record first to use it haha thanks man for the vid
  13. appreciate the feedback guys..mista ed whatup long time! heres an older file..different style http://soundcloud.com/freezeforze/dj-jeff-master-of-scratch-1
  14. They released 2 different 12inches of that song, there is an instrumental dub version but it basicly is an instrumental. For the past 6 or 7 years ive been collecting 80s electro funk, think i got about 500 records from that era, anyone who wants an mp3 of a certain electro beat can get a high quality mp3 from me. I guess most here don't have an idea where the originals come from, but here is another original song used by qbert a lot. http://youtu.be/ROoUz5jBXOg
  15. i give my vote to Symatic..liked the euroscratch part..not the most difficult to do but it gave the freestyle more variation..both were equally dope though. tough one.
  16. thanks man...keeping it old skool with a new twist...fuck been scratching for over 16 years now..still addicted
  17. new here but i have some material to post, will post a freestyle vid soon http://soundcloud.com/freezeforze/dj-jeff-just-give-the-dj-a-1
