TBH that sounded pretty lame.
Not the Kriss Kross sample but the shitty rhyme flow
Proper West coast is this:

I never trusted those Hanpin decks aka Technics lookalikes...they seem good on paper till you discover unusual motor behavior and a not so solid tonearm.
-
Its interesting to know that Behringer did a better Job than Roland recreating the TR808 and for only a few hundred euro.
I watched an interview with the creator of the SP1200...i really hope he will make an updated version 1 day.

This mumble rap has been going on for +5 years now...nothing new here... apparently those type of vids get watched way more than real hiphop hence he makes lots of money.
The consumer has a choice..they want mumble rap so they get what they want.
Kool G Rap explains it better on DJ Vlad TV.

You and my gran agree on that.Frank Sinatra still better and more original than current rap
His music sucks but at least he didnt sound as corny and wack as current rap

was endtroducing really the first all sampled album though? it's a credit that gets used a lot, and the album IS fucking amazing, i'm jsut wondering if theres not another album before that used all samples but just never made a big deal out of it.....
like melle mell? or BDP? or some weird arty experimental stuff like marks & lebzelter?
Critical Beatdown was all sampled way before Shadow
his latest album i heard on a plane trip last week and found only one dope song on it.. the rest sounded like some kid just starting out making beats very simplistic minimal
hes good at scratching though thats it.. dont expect any classic material again

Whats the little button between the pitch slider and the tonearm???
Looks like the quartz lock button. This started with the M3D and carried over to future models.
Back in 94 or something they released the first Gold Edition for consumers wich also had a reset quartz lock button.
The M3Ds came out in 97.

Him, Parish Hilton DJ Juicy M etc..etc..are all on the same page as in poor musical taste, im starting to believe he is a gay poser, i think his current audience would have loved the Pet Shop Boys and the Communards way back, actually they sound doper than any of what i heard this Rucker kid made
Anyway here is a song for this Ruck boy, sounds realer than what he does

Or maybe replays it... What have I said...
that's right, it was replayed on synths, samplers then had only tiny memories like 1.5 secs
-
"The court found that sampling had helped create hip-hop music"
pretty clueless as nobody was sampling when hiphop was born, even "planet rock" was not sampled
-
this guy can't make a proper beat or a bassline and yet he has one of the nicest machines ever made apart from the limited 10 secs of sampling but thats when a 78rpm turntable comes in handy pitch it back to normal speed in the SP and you got that tyical sound that you can't get out of an MPC60. Pete Rock was a master on the SP, when he switched to an MPC2KXL is when his beats started to sound cleaner and less smooth. I owned the 2KXL as well, you really needed the 8 outs board hooking it up to an eq mixer with reverb and a compressor to get that grimey sound. The EB-16 internal fx board was pretty rubbish but in terms of layout i loved that machine, the SP1200 i would still want over any MPC. Putting some 808 sounds into it and you can get that Maggotron vibe as he used the 1200 on a lot of his Miami Bass records.
But please not this guy

Ive sold my entire 90s collection of hiphop for good prices and kept most of my 80s hiphop/electro.
Actually i bought more records than i sold recently from Philadelphiamusic wich is one of the biggest sellers on Discogs.
Now i got a proper Funk/Disco/Electro/Hiphop collection and won't sell them any time soon.
One of my recent purchases "Papa Austin with the Great Peso- Wrong Girls to Play With" on Tuff City
Thats proper hiphop!

why would anyone want a cdj nexus on a scratch forum? those are club players, if i had one i would put it on ebay and get me something less plasticky
also the DJM nexus mixers are not my cup of tea, poor sound and a huge price just cause it says "pioneer"
-
Another collabo with my man DJ Phurty, some of the tracks are not my cup of tea (too corny) but definitely there are some dope classics in there hence i did the scratches, anyway we'll always remember our childhood music

Manufacturing costs aside, I'm pretty sure they're marking vinyl way the fuck up. I bet the margins are a lot better and they're pretty much selling to the "collector crowd" these days so they can get away with it.
The guy who started sleeping bag records is opening a manufacturing plant in Brooklyn, here are some of the costs to start something like this, so when ppl complain about vinyl being too expensive then they should realize that exesiting pressing cannot keep up with demand and they run on 70/80s technology thats almost impossible to rebuild.
$800,000: real estate in the east Brooklyn neighborhood of Brownsville; $15–30,000: one record press (Socolov acquired four); $6,000: shipping on a record press, from Russia to New York (dealing with its duplicitous seller was, according to Socolov, “the biggest crock of shit”); $10,000: repairs on record press; $10,000: massive hydraulic pump; $25,000: shrink-wrap machine (new); $65,000: boiler, for heating the water that will power the presses themselves; Unending: electricity, plumbing.
"The shrink-wrap machine, the compressor, the tanks, all the plumbing, the electrical, buying a transformer, forklift, shelving — believe me, this shit adds up,” Socolov says, sitting in his money pit, a brick building from the atomic age with a cardboard-and-Sharpie name placard on the front door so you know it’s official. (Brooklyn Vinyl Works launched a failed Kickstarter in June, asking for less than one tenth — $100,000 — of these expenses; the campaign raised roughly half.)

talking about used vs new..i bought a couple of new reissues lately and found out the sound was total crap, the only good sounding reissue i copped was Techno City by Cybotron on white vinyl.
As much as i want to contribute to the original artist i do prefer used over new, unless of course its a new song.
-
those Nielson figures don't represent total sales, places like Discogs or 2nd hand stores are not registered sales and in the US you got a lot of boot sales too.
But the official physical figures show like 10% Vinyl, 90% CD thats correct.
As far as the high vinyl prices, manufacturing CDs is cheap, doesnt mean i want anything on vinyl, actually most current rap i don't even want for free (they got cheap rap vinyl at hvv.de you get them for free when you earn enough bonus points, so i took some bags and record brushes instead)
-
Of all physical sales CDs take 2/3, vinyl 1/3. (in reality much of the second hand market isn't even counted)
It won't be long before vinyl sales will exceed CD sales, they just opened up a vinyl pressing shop nearby, ill take a visit there and negotiate about the prices.
Who would have thought that 20 years ago? Good times ahead.
-
ppl praise this turntable and say the're better than the 12s, they are affortable too, this vid proofs the longlasting superior build quality
-
i bought the Vinyl Flat 2 years ago, have flattened about 50 records, its simple and very effective tool with the heat pouch, takes about 3 hours per record and then most of the warps gone

Make Your Body Sing (Sample Based House Music)

Sure from a hiphop perspective a loop with a beat on top of it will do however hiphop and house are mostly about the sound of the beat, so i would change that kick to something more pleasurable to the ear, something a club would also play. consider that when officially releasing this project.
Well recently made a track with an RD6 drummachine, i'm selling it currently hehe
