  1. I found it quite hard to pick out one specific technique but looks like first 6 notes of an autobahn (some call that delayed flare) and doing the same movement backwards, but i could be wrong
  2. Nice one mate, pretty sure he'll have checked there first but there's plenty i'd like to hear there!!
  3. pity, it was like a godsend in those days someone playing all the independent stuff
  4. nice one, yeah he's got quite a few I guess he's just asking for any more suggestions in case it's some he missed....do you know how long that guest spot went on for on Westwood's show? I only remember one or two episodes at the time...
  5. Hey everyone, a friend of mine is after these quite rare mixes, I offered to ask around these parts on his behalf...Do let me know if you can help out! 6. Nice ! (grabs popcorn...) However, disrespecting an entire continent of DJs then thinking their response is only for their 15 minutes of fame?
  7. can't really speak about build/sound quality but from general consensus no one ever seems unhappy the fader on an Ecler Hak (I haven't tried it). Every innofader I've ever had had a problem after a while or needed constant taking apart of the mixer to adjust. If you don't mind messing with them and having the customizable options then a used Vestax plus innofader can be puchased under £200/$250 in total I'd imagine. I'd definitely recommend taking Rock's advice on anything mixer-related, they've had pretty much every mixer pass through the studio of theirs at some point or another!
  8. ahh missed this, I was hoping for a 1% discount on their $100 international shipping charges for a 7"
  9. Ahhh sounds exactly like the problem I'm having elgee!
  10. Ahh ok, that's interesting, I was really tensing my arm as I remember Q in a vid somewhere saying u " make your arm spasm", I'm glad you told me that before I probably do irreparable damage to my arm lol. Did you find u could just do them or took some work?
  11. Curious if anyone taught themselves to do these? (think the official name is drills, correct me if wrong!) When you tense your arm to do stupidly fast babies on the record. I can do them on my fader (strong) hand without really ever trying to learn them but not with my record hand (weak hand), been trying a bit every day and not really getting any stronger or able to last more than a couple of seconds, just wonder if anyone had found a technique they could share or if its one of those things you either can or can't do! I know Sy is a badman at these so will be curious for his suggestions! Something like Vazee's doing from 1:22 to finish here,
  12. Yeah sorry. Unfortunately ripping videos with decent quality is a massive pain in the hole, it took me ages to figure it out just to rip one old VHS. Probably the DVD recorder way is a good plan - you can then rip it to your PC using something like MakeMKV and then convert/deinterlace that. If anyone wants talked through the process hit me up. But basically, if you're in the USA then your videos will rip at a resolution of 720x480 at 30 frames per second, and if you're anywhere else they'll be 720x576 at 25 frames per second. The problem is, analogue TV is interlaced - meaning it squashes TWO frames into each frame (one frame in the even-numbered horizontal lines, one frame in the odd-numbered lines). That's why Hiipfire's video looks all line-y on fast moving stuff, because each frame is actually two frames being overlaid on each other. You need to separate those frames and store them separately - this process is called deinterlacing. This will produce a video that's 60FPS for the USA, and 50FPS for everywhere else. However youtube only lets you use 50 or 60fps on videos that are 1280x720 (i.e. 720p) or 1920x1080 (i.e. 1080p), so once you've deinterlaced you then have to resize the video up to that higher resolution if you want your videos to look good on youtube. But yeah, if you can get them onto DVDs with decent quality then you can worry about the deinterlacing shit later. cool, that's is probably what I will do then, thanks a lot!! Me too. I was in the shop when that Vic Roc routine was recorded. Ahhh, I was probably the annoying lanky guy at the front shoving a camcorder in his face while he was trying to do his showcase!
  13. Very kind Sy! Does that offer include any with HDMI & remote?
  14. bloody hell, I didn't really understand a word of that Andy! If my vids came out looking half as good as that DMC clip I'd be over the moon. Most of my vids were flimed in dark clubs (ooerr) like this - or in-stores where everything moves around a lot like this - all very amateur anyway (can't polish a turd?)
  15. With the few I did rip when I had that recordable DVD player I didn't have any problems no, I was only copying from blank tapes though so imagine manufacturers wouldn't have protected those?
  16. cheers Sy, I will try and find a solution myself first as I know once I start I'll keeping finding other stuff but good to know that's an option! I thought that too about the DVD recorder, but they're still annoyingly pricey! Decent ones second hand that can record go for £1-200. I did buy the cheapest I could find which was about £40 used and it was such a pile of crap took about an hour to get up and running ! cheers Broke , and no probs works well with the mac?
  17. ahh ok one of the reviewers says it doesn't work with mac
  18. the reviews look good and the quality is great, was that to a Mac or PC?
  19. Curious if anyone had any experience of this? I know Mikec had recommended the Elgato VHS capture - https://www.elgato.com/en/video-capture but as it comes in around £80 to just rip a handful of tapes was just wondering if any one knew of anything cheaper (that works!) Might have to pay it as I've tried a couple of things that just don't work at all (easycap converter - absolutely useless, avoid!) or only rip the footage and not the sound, unwatchable quality etc Ideally it would work with mac but PC is ok too if it definitely works! A while back I had access to a recordable DVD player which worked, bit of a longer process but I could record the VCR to DVD and then rip the DVD. Got some really rare Q, Craze + Allies + many more footage to upload!
  20. I had one since before there was a bandwagon to get on ;-) sound like shit though and cables everywhere so I rarely use it. That's unfortunately not something I leave set up around the house but my decks are always ready to go.
  21. you're right, forgot to mention recording yourself, and performing with the headphones really makes you focus on the sound you're making too...
  22. Thanks chile, just watched the first, these look really helpful. Your early vids were invaluable but I hadn't seen these - probably as I didn't know what heuristic meant!
