  1. I found the HEX editor hack stopped working from version 2.9 (i think?) onwards, Ive heard theres another workaround but supposed to be more involved. As a pro beta tester (pre beta, beta tester) Traktor dev team supplied me a VIP Traktor with DVS certification turned off and has the pre public release new features, happy days.
  2. Wot.... Mo missed his flight for a cat nap etc......
  3. Bigups Harry! Interesting to watch some the battle back, don't know if it was a random how they paired the final 8 up but I thought it was a pretty ideal matching.
  4. Ha, the perfect of example of extreme parallel universe choice. Rane 56, for most people the best scratch mixer of all time DJ-Tech DIF-2S MKII, erm... cheapest built scratch mixer of all time Once the human race has finally rinsed this planet dry/post nuclear apocalypse the only surviving indicators of the human existence will be fully working Rane 56 mixers and NMCP HQ
  5. My main playing out rig is one turntable, Z2, midi fighter 3D (in Traktor F1 mode for rmx decks) and a twister. My secondary/studio setup changes a lot as Im constantly trying to find ways to max Traktors features that arent accessible with the Z2 which runs Traktor in internal mode. External mixing mode Traktor gives different options for working with equipment be it vst efx or outboard gear which is something Im keen to explore.
  6. ^^^flol! You get what you pay for is generally true with dj equipment, but with pioneer currently pushing record box software hard the 250 is priced to shift units. Even without DVS I cant think of a better value for money new dj product than the 250. Djtech on the other hand..... considering the price tag if it only lasts a couple of years then no biggie. With a mini innofader it should serve its purpose well enough. @backtrack - I had the 900 nexus 2 in the studio for 3 months, despite it not being the pro Magvel I was really surprised how much I fell in love with that fader, deliciously sharp cut.
  7. Yeah getting some equipment hands on experience would be the way to go. An interesting option for serato hardware in regards to live techno stuff is the Roland controllers that have built in 808 styled sequencers. Also I meant the S5 controller, the S8 is a beast and would definitely get the most out of stem/rmx decks if you wanted to go down that road. Plus the S8 supports DVS so you can hook up turntables. In regards to Traktor pro 3.... recently I had the good fortune of becoming a pro beta tester for the Traktor development team. Its VERY early days but TP3 is definitely coming. New hardware wise Id only be guessing but I cant see the S5 or S8 getting an update any time soon. That said Id be surprised if they released TP3 without new flagship hardware, my guess would be an updated S4 with screens similar to the S5/S8 but thats jus an educated guess.
  8. I mostly use ebay for dj related buys as my income is pitiful so I rarely buy new. Westend dj and Juno have always given me good service, Juno especially have always been super quick to deliver and you can request a cheaper price. Decks.co.uk/saphires - had a couple of shit experiences there
  9. Do you beat juggle much and whats your dj setup? Edits can make aspects of routine creation more accessible but if you haven't made any routines yet I'd recommend starting off with unedited tracks first to get a good understanding of beat placement which will then help you understand how you want to edit tracks for a JFB approach
  10. So your asking on thought of his approach to creating edits?
  11. ^^bieber lives! New freestyle video please x
  12. Yeah his edit game is serious. Seen him play a few times over the years at various festivals. Music he plays and approach isnt what Im in to but Ive got nothing but respect for his achievements and skill level. Proper party rocker and there cant be many better tablists that can relentlessly juggle as tightly for a whole hour as JFB, beastly stuff.
  13. Surely the first JFB vid to ever make it on to DV?
  14. Ive only had a short go on the new four channel Mixars, new ProX fader they use felt good
  15. Definitely got nothing to fear about the Magvel fader, Ive had a pio mixer in my studio for the last 3 months and Magvel is right up there with the best IMO, brutal sharp cut, very similar sound as the contactless fader Vestax made.
  16. The Stem creator tool is super easy to use if you wanna go down that road, as a format making your own Stems is where that format really comes in to its own. @Dan - Ive got MF Twister to, the hardware sequencer mode is really dope but kinda redundant since RMX decks got an official sequencer mode. DJTT since released new mappings for the Twister to work really well with the official sequencer decks. The main thing that really splits Serato vs Traktor is ultimately hardware choice rather than music genres, in recent years Serato definitely has more and arguably better options when it comes to plug and play devices. But if you want to get the best out of Traktor for plug and play then NI own dedicated Traktor hardware is the best option, that said there's plenty of decent mappings available for a huge range of controllers. Depending on budget and wether your fussed about having platters/jogs a Traktor S5 paired up with your Twister would make for a kick ass 4 channel Techno rig, the Stem/RMX deck controls on there are limited compared to the S8, D2 or F1 but as you already have a Twister you can easily map stuff to your preferences.
  17. ^^^ what he says The DIF-2S price tag is mad cheap and despite the the 250mk2 being twice the price Id still go for the pioneer. For DVS alone its worth the extra money, but you also get channel filters, the magvel fader which is really good and you get Pio build and sound quality, no contest really.
  18. Another thing I jus remembered about RMX decks, they also have sequencer mode which is mad fun for drum machine style beat making on the fly - add reverb/delay to one part etc... for best results you really need a NI controller like a D2 or F1 tho
  19. Really depends on how far you wanna venture outside the traditional dj box? Both platforms cover the basics at a similar level but Id say serato is more powerful when it comes to key stuff thanks to its pitch n time add on. That said in regards to techno mixing the key lock/pitch wheel in Traktor is more than sufficient. Im a Traktor geek myself and rely heavily on rmx decks for my routine stuff, a very powerful feature - 4 track deck that can hold up to 64 samples as one shot or loops. Used well they add an element of what Abletons clip launcher brings to djing. As far as Im aware Traktor stem format has seen more techno releases than any other genres with stem tracks which could be very powerful tool paired up with four deck mixing.
  20. Bigups dude, this makes me all kinds of happy Ive only done around 6 dj sets in the wild over the last 5+ years so it was a real joy to actually play/mix music I love for change, especially in that setting with Jon playing after. Jon set was mad tight, was sic to see him go all in on the tablist/cut vibe from start to to finish, beeeeastly stuff.
  21. Much respect for all your work towards this years CSG Darcy, loving your new material to! FB link to a mini edit of the weekends shenanigans https://www.facebook.com/DjDubbaDutch/videos/412591975849396/
  22. No fucks given.... The Lords Code
  23. Agreed, Kodak has crazy dope technique, sic power and super tight with it but didnt really switch it up thru the rounds compared to Sy. As always once a certain level is hit, individual taste can swing it one direction or the other. Once it got to the final 8 the judges found it harder to choose, got the crowd involved but it was still pretty even results. CSG battle is for me the most serious non serious battle going, I love it Serious in terms of level and non serious in terms of being a bit chaotic (a running theme thru the whole weekend really) Overall the best cutter took the tittle, which is the main thing.
  24. 22 man scratch brawl.... from the pile of limbs n blood emerged 8 finalists - Kodak visuals vs Symatic Me vs Danny deepo Itchi vs Moschops Djackulate vs Redmist Then went on to Kodak Visuals vs Djackulate Itchi vs Danny Deepo Final Djackulate vs Itchi = King Jack wins 2 years on the trot Crazy dope battle, very pleased to make the final 8, the overall level thru the 22 was high to outrageous. Danny and I had to have an extra decider which he beasted!
  25. Im in Galway and so is the sun (bizarrely), where da fec are the rest of you lot then (Jo - hope you shake that virus off soon mate)
