  1. Well that told me, you could at least moisten the tip before you ram it in! I'm not sure how I touched a nerve but it certainly wasn't my intention. I only brought up the price thing as you did in regards to NI hardware. I'm well aware Ableton can do a ton of stuff it's a full on DAW, I was just making a valid point that Traktor has many of Ableton's performance aspects. To be honest I'm not sure how I feel about the mix tape thing, I don't feel that strongly about it either way. Traktor's sync is far from perfect when used with DVS as it rely's heavily on accurate grids, I personally don't like it because I prefer the turntable pitch fade to be in the "real" position. And of course anyone who calls them selfs a dj should be able to mix by ear. I don't think it's unfair to claim that Serato's parallel waveforms is a much better tool for beatmatching than Traktors sync. As I said in my first comment, it's funny how many go in to tribal rivalry over a bit of dj software, I'm off now to lick my wounds and practise my baby scratch's.
  2. Oh no don't get me started on "The Bodge", apart from host third party plugs in's and the mix tape cheat thing The Bodge doesn't give you any more features Traktor can do by itself, giving you everything The Bodge can do without having to run 3 separate pieces of softwares at the same time, the new rmx decks is basically Ableton style clip launching but unlike The Bridge, Traktor allows you to scratch the sample/clips. Is the Bridge something you can run on any old computer? running Ableton alone aint the most stable thing let alone alongside Serato. My routine above was made on a knackered old non pro Macbook and Traktor does all this for the entry level of £299 where as you got to drop nearly three times that to access to The Bridge. I hear ya on the NI hype machine, but it sounds more like an engraved hatred of NI has really got a hold of you, yes there just battle style routines but that certainly doesn't mean thats all it's capable of. Traktor could achieve both of those vids that are using the bridge at a less than half price. Audio 6 + F1 = £450 Ableton + Serato + Akai APC 40 = £1.000.000
  3. I've got one vid of me using the majority of Traktors sample features and a few fx, but I have to add a disclaimer about the content as the musical out put isn't really my bag. The vid was a dj techtools comp entry where ya had to remix any song using a perticularly gay sample pack. For my effort I wanted to squeeze as many technique's as pos in to a short routine, the finger drumming ain't my tightest, but technically I'm pleased with the routine, I now need to make something thats actually pleasurable on the ear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHlqHlD-Op8&feature=relmfu Thats bang on too, it's the best thing about the X1, gives you everything you could want from a DVS companion, leaving you to load the track and forget about the laptop.
  4. As I understand the Komplete Audio 6 doesn't operate DVS, just NI confusing things, it's the Traktor Audio 6 you want. I can understand how GUI in full balls out mode can make Traktor look fuck ugly to the unfamiliar eye, but its user definable to the point so even hardened SSL users won't have a stroke when giving it a try. Is the screen grab below really that confusing? I nurse a hard on for Traktor, and on regular basis (I might add). Funny how most of us go in to tribal rivalry mode over a bit of dj software. For most Traktor does to much than really needed, in reality when I'm playing out I rarely use more than two decks and a handful of fx, which I reckon is true for 95% of other Traktor users. But when fucking around in the studio with my fellow dj's or jamming along with a band Traktor gives me shed load of options I couldn't do on other DVS. I've already made my pre order for the new F1 rmx deck controller, (not "just" because I'm a self confessed NI fan boy) the new features paired with a one to one controller gives piss easy instant access to four pages of 16 samples per a deck in one shot or loop mode. Not something your gonna smash the granny out of thru a whole set, but for live scratch compositions these new rmx decks appear hard to better, especially once you add Traktor's existing ability to post fade sample. VJ and the Rane mixer thing is to be envied, but z germans ain't divs, its just a matter of time for video as not so long ago Skratchworx commented about NI hiring video experts. The supposed Rane 57 beater, the DJM T-1 was a fucking joke effort by Pioneer. The team at Pio responsible for adding stiff line fades and stream line out any possibility to post fade fx or sample on a "battle mixer" really deserve a sound thrashing. It's just a rumour at the mo but Craze Tweeted around the time of Namm about a Vestax Traktor mixer, time will tell on that one but Traktor certainly needs a proper battle mixer and it's definitely about time Vestax make a new flagship battle slag so hopefully the rumour will come good. Sorry for the lengthy ramble x
  5. Hell yeah I'll be there this sunday, just PM ya some Maschine goodness
  6. Thanks man, I know I'm not alone in hating that bloody record button. It's been a while since I've listened/watched my self cut and it's served as a good reminder how much I need to neaten up. Which is what I like most about your vid, proper tidy and clean scratching equalling a smooth funky feel. I remember that Xone mixer with the clear faceplate from the last SSS, I was one of the new faces that day, the one drumming on Maschine.
  7. Stumbled across Yoshi's post on facebook about the Hee Haw thing and had to get a piece of it once I read the format of the battle. So here's my sloppy effort along side my first post http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoM-rrwei2I&list=UU8xbPVIRhYy-1rafMhu_TlQ&index=1&feature=plcp
