  1. Yep, feeling that to. I don't think there's a clear favourite in this perticular race.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6gqDpa3uFg
  3. Maybe worth checking on line for some sort of train MEGA PASS that'll cover the round trip for the whole weekend, probably cost a fortune if such a thing exists tho. Driving won't be to much of nightmare because of the times ya'll be hitting the roads are very much off peak, the only potential banana skin I can see is the drive to CSG on Saturday thanks to the unpredictable M25 and selfish tail back creating types who crash cars. Plus the M23 London to Brighton is currently being girthed, about 5+ miles of speed restrictions, but the motorways late morning and early afternoon are normally friendly. For the post SSS journey home, with the olympics, bank holiday and potential sunshine, I personally wouldn't take a car anywhere near inner London and would have to dump any London based SSS hitchhikers at a train station as close to the M25 as pos, Orpington or Sevenoaks stations depending on which way the driver is heading round the M25.
  4. Yep! The static camera was just left on record, only stopping when the tape needed changing.
  5. I think Symatic was talking about CSG vids dummy's Soon as the dates for SSS were nailed, both cameras (and this time a camera man) were booked. Been pestering my very busy vid friend relentlessly for the last couple weeks to start work on the last one, we're gonna have a look next week, over 4 hours of footage to sift thru, think gonna be pretty board of the aaahhh sound by the end of that eve
  6. May have to in force a kebab curfew pre watershed! Think of what it'll be like for folks turning up on the sunday! from cutting alone Jimmys place stunk of man mid way thru SSS 9 and that "wasn't" after a night of spooning/bonding sleepover followed by no shower, yummy! No worries tho, I could put my air con unit, industrial fan and a shit load of air freshener to good use, by the time we come back from the local greasy spoon it might smell a bit less pornographic.
  7. The thing I hate most about sync is the now cliche phrase 'creative potential", when the reality is I've only seen a pretty small sized handful of things to back that shit up, I guess the word potential is well placed. This is especially true on the Hi street level, all people need nowadays to get a job in a naff hi street venue is some sort of understanding of popular music, things were certainly different 10 years ago, tho there were still fake shit dj's "back in the day" ,but at least then they didn't have youtube to upload really annoying vids of them selfs playing with FX for 5mins while syncing up 4 songs. What fascinate's me is wondering where this is all heading to, young kids are starting there dj'n live's with a whole different work flow that would melt the mind of experienced middle aged dj's. Give it another 10 years and we should start to see some of this creative potential come to fruition, dj'n as a whole does seem to be in some sort of long ass transitional period. Much has changed in recent times but to me it feels like we're barely half way thru. (apologies for thread de rail-ment, I just thought there was some interesting parallel's of the sync debate and studio based mix's)
  8. Excellent, we'll start stocking up on coffee and hang over remedies!
  9. This is why I find the great auto sync hate fest debate a tad bit amusing at times, beat matching IS the bit any fool can do, hitting that evil sync button doesn't make the computer shit creativity and choose what song to play next. Mix wise my preference is manual simply because I learn a lot from making mix's as I try to punch above my skills and in the end I have some handy special's I can I pull out the bag when needed. I'm not adversed to the studio mix thing, I completely get James and Jon's reasons. Dam I haven't actually mixed since feb! I blame SSS entirely.
  10. Unofficial CSG after party? Just been on Nozl's site and the only info on CSG BBQ is a Twitter feed listing the event on the weekend of the 25th Would feel like a missed opportunity to not have some sort of gathering while folks are down our direction, especially for guys who have a proper long journey. Bank holiday on the 27th to, so no work Monday, late night sunday session potential. There is the boring option of getting a hotel nearer to Rye after CSG, less of a mission to the studio in the morn, I'll be in there Saturday eve if any one wants to come round there more than welcome
  11. When jumping from CD timecode to vinyl timecode you will need to change to the input sensitivity (turn on/off Audio 6 phono pre amp). To do this open the 'Traktor Audio 6 Control Panel' app and select the settings you want. If there's no interference from the non active timecode input the splitter cable might work, the other option is one of those pricey DVS junction box, designed for easy switch overs in dj booths.
  12. CSG followed SSS! that'll be sick sick sick! I'd guess there'll be some drivers around for the potentially epic scratch fuck fest weekender, just to let peeps know a train ride from Brighton to Rye is only 50min, Distance by car isn't to far, but the coastal road can be slow IF the weather's good, looking at about an hour and 10/40min car ride from Brighton to Rye depending on how many beach seeking divs are on the roads. Tho chances are you'll all end up man bonding after CSG, get shit faced in Brighton and turn up in Rye about 4pm
  13. Yep, what he said. I can do the very basics slowly on my weak side but it really fry's the grey matter
  14. Whats your latency settings? in the past I've found that anything approaching 256 or higher can sometimes equal marginal sticker drift. Also if ya on the latest version 2.5 there "might" be bugs at work (probably not tho), if previous major updates are anything to go by then expect a 2.5.1 to land pretty soon.
  15. Loving the Rye village SSS kudos, still can't quite believe that actually happened in my home town, proper gutted it's been and gone!! All ready conjuring up studio SSS mode improvement thoughts on how to make it even better for when our turn comes round again Top points for Matt on the fat munch effort, turns out scratch djs don't give a fuck about rain once near a BBQ. Certainly noticed how little effort a BBQ can be without women getting in the way with there stupid vegetables and salads! Meat + Meat + Meat + Bread + gentlemen's relish = happy scratchers and non existent clear up. Dude I loved your reaction when you came thru the door, I'm in the scratch lair now and it feels very ghost towny on me jack jones. We finally had a good reason (on sunday at least) for having 3 sofas in here. Definitely an open door policy for any of the SSS crew who fancy's the trek down , obviously it's a great place to have mix too. Just PM my self or Matt on DV/Facebook or un earth our mobile's from pre SSS posts x Big Props to Jim and Doob for having faith in a couple of country folk ya hardly knew, the place got a good tarting up all thanks to SSS.
  16. Pats on the backs all round, Matt and I was down there earlier to pack some bits up and you'd never tell it happened thanks to the respect the place was shown, all we gotta do is wash some cups. I gotta say I loved everybody's first reactions to seeing the scratch studio. Just wish I could of got my head in the game and properly relax, big week at work, studio finishing touches, computer migration failure all mixed up with SSS hosting child like excitement seems to be a perfect cocktail to disconnect my hands from my brain. Is it just me or does SSS zap some serious brain juice?!
  17. "We've" been working hard all week?! That message was the first finger you lifted! it's looking fooking beautiful even if I do say so may self. Hope everyone has a good journey down, the awesome scratch pad studio shaped reward at the end will be worth the drive! If anybodys got some fat beats they've been longing to hear/kut too on a big bass laden system please please bring it with you wether it's on good ol vinyl or USB. It'll be nice to hear/kut to a few personal favourites. And just to repeat a part of what Matt/Rockwell says, if your bringing a mixer please bring Phono/RCA lead with ya too. Also if you wanna make landing a bit easier your welcome to prime us via text when ya sat nav tells ya your minus 20mins to arrival and/or as Matt says call when you arrive Matt 07891 856037 or myself 07714 435798
  18. SSS has definitely helped us sort our shit out, we should be thanking you as we didn't even have a kettle down there a few months back! Massive shame Symatic and Yoshi are looking doubtful, was looking forward to hearing there cuts on a big rig.
  19. Shame Traktor doesn't at least have the option for the same SSL auto keylock off when scratching, that would be nice to have. As I understand with Traktors key lock on, the pitch is locked until there is 30% change in pitch in either direction. Which is pretty lame for when your pitching beneath a 30% thresh hold as it gives scratching with key lock on an odd feel. As tight as Traktor is I still mostly use real wax for cutting and mainly use DVS for diy samples and instruments. The only time I like to occasionally use key lock with scratching is when I'm cutting with real instrument samples as it then keeps every forward/back scratch thats under 30% in the original key of the sample,
  20. Well said, don't let your vaginas ruin this meet up, There'll be a good 10+ coming from our area all waiting to be humbled by Eric and the studio's been pimped especially for this bro down!
  21. I'm selling my old Traktor Audio 8 at the mo, looking for £190 plus P&P if ya interested, bar the two extra channels it performs as good as the brand new Audio 10. I'm not sure how but both those souncards do a great job of getting the most out of an MP3
  22. 11th is a monday, Rob meant 10th which works for me
  23. Every now and then I like to bust out the real wax for a mix, but only in the studio. The one thing I miss most is reading vinyl and working out drops just by looking at the different shade of the record. Gig wise I'm 99% digital, but I never leave home without a handful records just in case. MP3 are fine for ipod's and in the car but for dj'n, nah! Lossless or wav all the way. To be fair some 320 can be surprisingly good, all depends on the conversion quality and production levels.
  24. My unit awaits, either of those dates are fine for us
  25. Sitting down hurts a bit but I'll survive, I blame d00b entirely, this thread was always gonna get spicy. @Chriss, wise words as usual
