  1. Edge is based on Chromium which is the open source foundation of Chrome, and adds a few useful features while also integrating Bing which I have no use for. I feel like It tends to be a bit faster than Chrome too these days. Anyway, Firefox all the way if you care about some privacy.

I bought Army of Ruin earlier. It's very similar to Vampire Survivors, but with nicer graphics.

Like VS, there's a ton of stuff to unlock and upgrade, and upgrades to your stats are permanent and carry over to future play-throughs, so over time you get stronger and stronger.

If you played VS and liked it, I'd definitely recommend picking this up. It's a little more expensive than VS at £6/$8, but that's still cheap for the amount of gameplay you'll get out of it.

I got Army of Ruin after you recommended it because it was cheap and I started to get bored with VS. I also got Hall of Torment (also for a few $) because it appears to be a mix of old school Diablo and VS but I haven't played it more than 2 minutes yet 😄

AoR is pretty fun. I beat my first endless run yesterday (by beat, I mean stayed alive for 30 minutes) and it was pretty intense what was going on on the screen by the end... I still have tons of stuff to unlock so that is definitely a good ratio replayability/$

I will focus on a money harvesting build next to unlock as many permanent upgrades as possible.

  3. my desktop that i use for everything got the update like a year ago.

I have not really noticed any improvements. However I noticed regressions with:

    - the start menu
In W10 you can group your shortcuts and organize everything by tasks or activities. I don't know if it's something people do but I realized it was possible and because I do work, games, music on my machine, it was super helpful. in W11 you can group shortcuts like you would do on an Android phone so it's a major step back in terms of organization/productivity for me.

    - taskbar
on W10, my taskbar was at the top. Nuh uh, can't do that with W11

    - multiple monitor management
I used to have the Windows tray on monitor #2 so that I would still have access when monitor #1 is displaying things full screen. Not possible with W11.

These things are things people have reported online multiple times. It's not excluded some of these things could get fixed in future releases but to me these have been annoyances.

On top of it, my update got messed up a bit and I have a couple of minor things that have not been working since I did this update and I need to reinstall from scratch. In hindsight, clearly I should have installed it cleanly...

  4. I briefly tried Nvidia Gamestream as it came bundled with my Shield Pro and the latency with the controls made it more frustrating than anything. Probably for casual gaming it would be have been fine though. I believed the service has been shut down now so no big loss for me.

I don't know of anyone using any of these services on a regular basis...

  5. I only have 2 android loopers working on the latest version Skratch Loopers vol2 & 3. All the previously released loopers by Gold Voltron, Thud Rumble, D-Styles, Babu, Craze & Klever which were using a similar canvas with tempo practice stopped working. I tried to modify the app by updating the Android version supported but that didn't fix anything

The Tablist.net Android app works fine if you know what you're looking for but 1. is very slow to refresh, 2. still buggy (downloading loops sometimes stops and won't resume so you have to download again and you end up with duplicate loops) and 3. doesn't necessarily have all the loopers available from the site itself

  6. I've had a 6 for about a year now, previously had a OnePlus 7T and the thing I miss the most to this day is the physical sound switch. I've got used to it now though.

I haven't issues with the updates but I think it's because mine only updates itself when I sleep. So all I see is a notification that I need to finish the install by rebooting the phone which never takes more than a few minutes.

The other thing that irritates me is that all the loopers (QSU, Scratch Nerds, Babu, D-Styles) I bought the last few years do not work with the latest version of Android. I saved some APKs in case someone has a fix one day...

I've been playing 9 Monkeys of Shaolin: -

If you like classic side-scrolling beat 'em ups like Final Fight, you will like this. It offers more depth than those classic games, with more moves and unlockable weapons, items and upgrades.

You can play it solo or in co-op with one other person, either locally or online.

Thanks for the recommendation Steve. I was looking for a local coop game to play with my brother in law (following Streets of Rage 4, the new Ninja Turtles game, RiverCity Girls, you see the pattern...) when he's in town and this one totally hits the spot.

  8. EA did that with StarWars Battlefront and it didn't go well from a PR standpoint, though arguably the grind was worse on paper.

You bet Blizzard will be very focused on selling skins and characters. They must realized they made a mistake (i.e. missed on a ton of cash) when they release the game not following the fortnite model. And I hate that model (besides the fact that selling skins for a FPS is stupid, I play Apex so I know lol)

  9. ^ this

Free VPNs are not reliable and speeds are bad in most scenarios. Get Nord or Express for a month to make sure it does what you want* and get a longer subscription once you made your choice.

*Some streaming services banned IP ranges associated with VPNs so some may work, some may not.

  10. You can also sometimes find nice office chairs on Craiglist sold by liquidators for a fraction of the price if you're in a big enough city (or near one). I'd def choose one of those over a gaming chair. At work I have a Steelcase Leap and it's incredibly comfortable all day for my fat ass. I'm hoping I can find a used one some day for home.

One of my Switch controllers has loads of drift / ghost left movement. Really annoying, seems a common problem. I've got all the little tools I need, just got to sit down and have a crack at opening it up and cleaning it a load. Plus it doesn't always charge properly. Stupid Nintendo.

I had to replace the stick on 4 controllers a few months ago because they would all drift. I don't think cleaning them will fix the drift. The first one maybe took me 25 minutes because you have to learn how things are positioned on each side (they're not exactly mirrored when you compare left and right) but the other 3 took like 10 minutes total. That was absolutely worth it. Stupid Nintendo.
