also - if you multi-track the mixtape you can lay the basic tunes down on one track. then do scratches on another track and add any accapellas, samples etc on another track. that way if you get the cuts wrong for example, you dont need to re-record the entire mix.

in my opinion, a good mixtape needs a combination of instrumentals and vocal tracks . provides balance.

 

2ndhand is right though - you could edit a mixtape perfectly but you need good tunes aswell

if you wanna hear some of the best d n b around at the mo listen to an album called "Weapons of Mass Creation". it's a compilation of tunes from different producers such as John B, London Electricity etc etc.

 

check out Nu:Tone, Marcus Intalex and ST Files, Commix, Makoto, LTJ Bukem - all great producers. check out loadsa white labels as well. you'd be really suprised with what you find.
