The PSP is the new Game Gear Can you lay off the "fanboy" attitude? Nobody cares man...I had a question and MrDee was helping me out...who even asked "HEY IS THERE A NINTENDO FANBOY ANYWHERE WHO CAN TELL MY WHY HE LOVES IT SO MUCH?" Its JUST a video game system dude...relax.

    PSP 2.71 mod? help?

I agree, best handheld EVER. I'm not sure how the guy modded it though...he said he "writes something to the motheboard" or something...so I'm not 100% sure.. All I know is I can't run homebrew...or I technically can but risk bricking it so I'm just going to wait it out for now and play ISO's. Speaking of which...where is a good link to d/l them? torrents? I have no clue... Oh and do you know where you can find the Beat making program? I heard there is a sampler sequencer for the psp as well...?

    PSP 2.71 mod? help?

Ok well as of today...my supposedly "unmoddable" 'TA-082' board is MODDED...I found someone who wrote a program to bypass it and it works perfect...got a DVD with 100 games...with the mod...and a memory stick for $50 CDN. DOPE!

    PSP 2.71 mod? help?

Unfortunately I just checked and it IS ta-082...I guess I"m fucked...is there anyway possible to mod these? Some guy on craigslist.org here in Toronto says he mods even those...but I'm skeptical. Should I just try to get a non ta-082 model somehow? p.s. is there the possibility this board will be moddable in the future?
  7. Ok so I got a PSP 2.71 firmware version for xmas....I'd *LIKE* to be able to play backups and emulators etc...is there a guaranteed and SAFE way to do this without bricking my PSP??? Please let me know if any of you can help out...I'm kinda oblivious to the whole PSP modding scene thing so help a brother out. Thanks! Merry Xmas!
  8. Sup Steve, the EP is all InsideAMind (dj Visiion & Steptone) I am working with them but a solo artist all the same. Anyhow, if you want to contact them through the site I'm sure they could tell you better. p.s. InsideAMind is also on TGOS 'Truth About Pans Sons" compilation out for download right now off the TGOS site. p.p.s - I will have some dope product out for next year but in the mean time I will continue to hit you guys off with what were doing on this side of the world! Peace.
  9. Sup guys, once again...had something to post so here we go. I know I posted the Palette 3 video before but this is the final edit I did the other week there. So here it is again...and added is some audio from a show I did with InsideAMind (www.insideamind.net) The video is a semi-improv (I was the only one with any pre-rehearsed material) performance of the last show I ever did with the rc-20 (use the rc-50 now). This footage was the very first time I had played or even practiced with the guitar player (Garen Markarian - www.myspace.com/garenmusic) and the djembe player (Wally Mierzwa who I met for the first time that night) so what you see is what you get. The sound is slightly distorted but still listenable. Nothing crazy, just some good vibes. (no idea how to embed youtube shit so...) This audio is from the InsideAMind ( www.insideamind.net) Fragmental CD Release party. It consists of: Dj Vision (Turntables, FX, MPC) Dj Steptone (Turntables, FX) John Kameel Farah (Nord Lead, Abelton Live, Baby Grand Piano) Myself (Turntables, FX) This piece is entirely off the top of the head...was definetely a fun show. http://download.yousendit.com/CF4267981A6235A1 p.s. GO BUY THE INSIDEAMIND FRAGMENTAL EP HERE -> www.insideamind.net Peace
  10. My setup in less than a month will be as follows...(90% there already) Rane TTM56 2 pdx 2300's Boss rc-50 M-audio 2496 internal Cool Edit Pro (for life bitches!) Behringer Nano (to control the pan/vol/tempo of the rc-50) Technics sy-1010 (synth) Kaoss Pad 2 That list will grow as I invest in more synths and such tho....trying to weed out everything digital if possible.
  11. Word Tek, I went to that show here in Toronto....some people were sellin pairs for $300CDN the show was off the hook tho...I got tix at reg price thankfully. If that was here in Toronto tho puffy would have got rushed on the stage for just being there lol....gayyyyyy.
  12. Um technically you could do this...but the loop from your rc-20 and the bassloop from your pc won't stay synced....especially since the rc-20 isn't midi compatible.
  13. I'm sure it sounds closed minded of me...but I can't get past the accent. Cool he used the Les McCaan sample tho...
  14. vet has spoken! I saw rafiks...I liked that a BIT better actually...except the pre produced version of teen spirit seemed kind of effortless...ah well. I'm tryin to find something good in the bad! lol. DAMN YOU TURNTABLIST DOWNCORE!
  15. Ok I know some will definetely disagree but Netiks set (I only saw his) was ...well...crap. DMC is just a bunch of pre pressed records made into cacophony by dj's these days. I'm glad I didn't actually PAY to watch that....if THAT was the best that night....god help us all. DMC's really *is* on the way out.
  16. My top 5: DYLAN DYLAN DYLAN DYLAN DYLAN... the rest can feck off..
  17. Oh dope! Its funny how I find more and more people doin music like this...that's a little more incorporative with turntables and other gear with traditional instrumentation. I don't even label it 'scratch music' anymore...I mean when youre playing within a group it sounds so ego-centric to say its only scratch/turntable music, you know? Yeah it would be dope to see what you are up to....I enjoy seeing other perspectives on music....was just watching Zen Bungalow actually...those guys are pretty dope too. ...anyway..yeah..post up when you get a chance! pz.
  18. No miracle though? What does that mean lol..? Also...I'm not even sure what "the chase" is....which song are you referring to? Maybe you can post a comparison? The eternal fader is nice but I just didn't trust the 360 HAK that much... in the long run I prefer the Rane ttm56 just because the thing is a tank and I know it will last me a long time. Thanks for checkin the video. hm, i just listened again and my association wasnt really in a normal listeners reach.. :s however, this wasnt ment as criticism, i though it was intential..like jazz musicians do their interpretations of tracks... i didnt find that vid of gunkhole performing it so here is an mp3 of it. that stuff you are doing 9:3x - 10:30 reminded me on that but i wont suggest it is even close after listening to your stuff and that gunkhole track again..so sorry. :$ Its cool man, I just didn't know what you were referring to and was curious.....and listening now I see what you mean but at the same time it was definetely unintentional. I thought maybe I had used sample they used or something. Anyhow, no harm no foul, thanks again for checkin it out!
  19. Thanks Ryan, its not normally the type of music I perform live either but its dope you appreciate it anyway. I just wanted to do something most people wouldn't associate with 'scratching' for that show...no ahhhh's or fresh's...no dark techy beats (which I love too at times). Especially here in Toronto (and most places) its a social science experiement in a sense as most people either have no concept of what can be done with turntables....or alternately think its only battle style and nothing else. Anyhow I don't want to over analyze things but never the less thanks for the words and taking time to check it out Ryan. p.s. what genres/styles would you like to see as a listener??...I'm always trying to do new things...looking to do some live dub style songs soon with a 4-5 piece ensemble.
  21. I'm in the process of converting to all analog and possibly a controller one if I can get one around these parts for a good price...just got a ttm56 as well...I literally sold the mixer in that set right after I was done my set. ha.
  22. Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it! I have more footage (of the other artists) but its not really up to me to put it up...I will see about it tho.
  23. Sup guys, just thought I would share this with you all (I'm only posting this here on this board for now)... http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PU6ZIKQ7 This is from a turntable based series of shows we have been doing every few months called "Palette" which was created by InsideAMind (a Toronto scratch music band). Its about 13:30min long and the 2 musicians playing with me are Garen Markarian (on steel string guitar) and Wally Mierzwa on the Djembe. This was the FIRST time we had ever played or practiced together keep in mind....I just had some basic ideas pre done on the loopstation (rc-20xl) and a bunch of pre marked samples and possible song combinations I could do and I just picked them at random to create the set as the emphasis on these shows is the IMPROV aspect. I hope you all enjoy P.s. I also did the intro music and edited in photography from the show as there were many other talented musicians involved in the show. The handstyle tag in the intro is done by DEZ who does some SICK pieces and artwork HERE --> DEZ's MYSPACE PAGE P.P.s - The sound is a bit off as the camera was on TOP of a speaker and behind the house speakers so its not as clean as it could have been but nevertheless listenable. All comments and such are welcomed. Peace guys! - Vet
  24. The Rc-50 is STILL in beta testing...I'm one of the first on the list for North America release (so they told me) to get one and they JUST pushed the release date back to September 2006. The shit is dope tho, its only $600 CDN so I would wait for all those wanting to invest elsewhere...it will be well worth the money.
