  2. I say this to any new people trying scratching out when I run workshops. Always show faderless techniques first, then click techniques. I'm sure I was given this advice online at somepoint when starting, but its good that you've stuck it in a video for people. Keep it up dood!
  3. We ended up as one of the winners thanks to everyone that shared and voted!
  4. Thanks for the support guys. If there's anyone else you can hassle to take a few minutes to vote (girlfriends, family, mates) it'd be much appreciated! There's 4 days left now til voting ends. Been pretty full on for the past week and a half emailing companies to try get staff votes, visiting shopping centres to get the public knowing about it and voting, and standing outside football matches giving out flyers. We been on radio and got in the daily mail as well: https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news/health/hull-music-groups-bid-50000-2733411?fbclid=IwAR2teHWd-_xoANFd1wAOsnOzPnMByY_dsPxJwZTQ_w9O-NEh96MV3irpAk8 Learned a fair bit about getting word about summit out, but yeah its been pretty draining as well and its mega time consuming. Hopefully it won't be for naught!
  5. thanks for the votes guys! Those of you from outside the UK, please peer pressure your english friends to vote for us
  6. Ello, Some stuffs happening right now up until 15th April and I need your help! It only takes a few minutes and its for a great cause. I'm involved with a community music group Hull sound Circles - Music for all. We need your vote for a competition we've entered for lottery funding in order to provide community workshops in the Yorkshire area. We work with Alzheimers society, Age UK, Endike Community Care, 5senses, Your life, Refugee Council and Kids charity. Anyone in the UK can vote. If you could share about this on social media that would also be a huge help. If you would like to know more please check out the video on the voting page Music for All - Calendar South - The People's Projects Your support is hugely appreciated!

  11. Ok its done! 'This 22 page study on integrating cross rhythms with scratching was created for the long study project of my final year undergraduate degree in Creative music technology at Hull University. It won the school of arts and new media award for the best undergraduate extended project in 2012. After years of procrastinating, it’s now been editted and polished to be released. The study includes: Theory sections – Classic/modified TTM Additive approach Comparison of cross rhythm and regular time scratchesTTM diagrams of 6 cross rhythm scratches (Chirp OG Flare, Turnaround Transform, Balanced Hippopotamus, Crescent Lucky 7, Enneagon, Hendecagon), written discourse, links to additional audio examples of variations of these scratches and links to demonstration videos.TTM and written discourse of 2 cross rhythm influenced regular time scratches (Royal line & Chirp Boomerang).TTM, video demonstration and written analysis on pattern phase shifting. The study is designed to demystify cross rhythms patterns and give a clear and concise approaches for practicing and creating these particular types of scratches.' 13. Thanks for the interest guys, I'm currently stressing out trying to finish it off tonight so its done and i can think about getting people on board with it. My girlfriend is angry with me because I'm skipping on seeing her to nerd out on this. Steve a mass email would be really awesome actually, cheers will let you know..
  14. Hello fellow dvers. At the end of this week I'm going to release the cross rhythm ebook (that book that was in all the cross rhythm videos) for my patreons. If you'd like to get a digital copy, you can become one of me patrons of learning for $4 and I'll send you a download link when its up. Alterternatively you can wait a little longer for a physical book release which will be sold on ambivalentworks (the book is primarily meant to be used electronically as it has hyperlinks etc, but people like physical things innit.) If you're interested, check out more information about the tier benefits and that stuff on my patreon page - https://www.patreon.com/djchile

  16. cheers guys Tbear, I used faber castell pitt pens, posca paint pens, chameleon pens, sharpies, colouring pencils and a bit of pilot choose coloured gel pens
  17. Is me only finished colour piece this year. It's called cognitive map 2 (there is no cognitive map 1 hah). Its to do with concepts that are connected in a none obvious way, at least in my head. Like suicidal ideation and the urge to go on holiday or traveling. When someones had enough one person can get suicidal while another might just move city or go traveling for a year or whatever, the underlying motivation can be very similar like a death of the previous self. Rumination I think is very closely connected with creativity even though rumination can be a fairly negative and disruptive experience and quite neurotic. Humility and competitive humility is another funny one. People competing for who is more humble than the other, its like a weird competition over who is the better person, when no one is when you think that way. Same thing with Sadness and competitive sadness, moaning about who has the most problems and trying to out do each other with who has the worst life hah. Recently it got accepted for ferens art gallery open exhibition 2019 so im gonna try and flog the original there I have prints in A3 and A2 size if it catches anyone's interest - https://www.ambivalentworks.com/shop/daniel-arce-cognitive-map-2/

  21. bit of youtube, mostly figuring stuff out meself from playing around. for harmony I been practicing two different types of 7th chord for the past few months and just transposing the shape and getting used to how it feels all over the piano then doing some simple melodies following notes in or near the chord. Over time I'm getting a sense for the scale I'm in. The melody stuff is just figuring out some scales and arpegio sort of patterns then splicing things together to see what fits with what
  22. been learning 7th chords. well fun! https://www.facebook.com/DanielArce.DJchile/posts/10154358182466567
