im watching that episode now. cant believe im actually watching all of these as im a play station guy. although i do have a 360 and a xbox one. but i bought those for my kids. dont get me wrong, i dont hate the xbox at all, i just like the playstation exclusives.

I got inspired by somebody else who is working on a break mix. I had a few beers and said fuck it, lets have some fun with some breaks. Plus, I recently got a new desktop tower that ive been using strictly for recording, streams, and zoom calls. So this was another test for that computer. Recorded with OBS. audio: video:

I just got Miles Morales on ps4. got it for cheap on the holiday sale. I really enjoyed the first spiderman game. this one is just as good if not better. The fight styles are a little different, which is good considering this is a different character. Im enjoying the storyline as well. They put some thought into this one to make it a different game.

i just downloaded psychonauts 1 a few weeks ago. didnt want to pay full price for psycho 2 yet. The first one is an awesome game. I didnt realize it was on ps2. i thought it was newer than that. I would definetly play part 2.

The tribe joint is banging. maybe raise the highs on the vocals a bit. Phife sounds like he had a cold. but, the vocals were perfectly in sync. and the track has a nice bounce to it. Overall good job!!

Hip hop group therapy

This mix is some of the songs I usually play in the fall (autumn). I kept it a pretty simple mix. Damn near 90 minutes long. All Hip-Hop. Get in.

i gave up on trying to master cuts years ago. really it was just not making time to actually practice learning cuts. the only people who care about what your cuts sound like or even what your mixes sound like are other dj's. the average listener dosent care. So I just do what feels natural. i spent more time trying to be good at mixing and selection. hell, for the past 2 years i've been forcing myself to use my right hand on the record. before, i had both decks on the left side of the mixer. the left hand on the fader is just awkward to me, but i think im adjusting well. i keep telling myself im going to start practicing scratching but it never happens. im lucky to get 2 hours of time on the turntables a week. so i cram as much recording that i can in that little bit of time. so there is no practice, everything is trial by fire.

For what I do, I love the z2. Im still exploring the possibilities of using the F1 with it. i never used serato, so its hard for me to comment on alot of the other mixers out there as far as features go. I do like the fact that the s11 can take a blend that you made and move it to its own sperate channel so you can blend a whole new song into it. honestly, these new mixers are aimed towards doing routines. like red bull 3styles. The only thing I wish my z2 had is on board effects instead of software effects. well maybe 2 things. I would also like to have all 8 cue pads immediately available like the s9 and 72. every now and then i could use more cue points. like when your messing with bob james nautilus. you need at least 15 cue points for that song.

I found this song years ago when my oldest son was about 4 or 5. Its off a cd for kids but its funky as hell. i had no real direction with this routine. just having fun with this break.

I want a PS5 but i dont have time to play it. Not to mention i cant afford a ps5 right now. hell, I started cyberpunk on ps4 months ago and never made it past the training. I havent touched the ps4 or any other console in months. So maybe in the next 2 years I'll get a ps5. I want to get myself a nintendo switch as well. My laptop is about 5 or 6 years old. and its starting to show signs of needing to either be replaced or wiped clean and start over. one of those past updates has done a number on my laptop. now if i really need to do something, its best to start it up and let it sit for about an hour before using it. plus i would like another laptop or pc just for recording. I use reaper as a daw, and it dosent really like when i have 2 audio interfaces running at once. It considers my z2 to be an interface as well. If i have both running then i lose my midi controls on my zoom interface. its a pain in the ass. phones. i finally paid off me and my wifes phones. not too quick to get the latest and greatest. honestly, there is nothing that these new phones do that i really need. dj gear. I love my z2 and i really wish ni would put out an upgrade. not that i want one, but im afraid that this is it for traktor scratch mixers. and pioneer and rane are like 3 times as much as i paid for this z2.

I had a cheap ass iHome soundbar that i got for free from my old job. that thing was the worst. Most of my tv's are running thru old stereo receivers that i got from the thrift shops. and i got a few stereo speakers. i found a fiber optic audio to rca converter on amazon. so i use those to run the sound to the receivers. its amazing how 1 good stereo speaker sounds versus some of these soundbar/ surround sound set ups. at the end of the day, i just need it loud.

A buddy of mines was asking me when i was going to do another mix. I just havent had the time since i've been back on a full work week schedule. I got lucky and everybody in the house left me alone for almost 2 hours. I just hit record and went for it. This is what came out.

we just putting them out as we make them. No real plans. Just a group of cats that love hip hop. We all had our own projects going anyway. We just decided to combine forces and see what happens.
