  1. Yeah, what's the deal with those tiny but deep bass drums? I like 'em. Yamaha make pretty dope drums man. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DW all the way. Gotta love freefloating toms. Iso-mount baby!
  2. OK...I been playing for 13 years: Piano, Drums, Guitar, Bass (i can pop n slap), Rap, Sing, Scratch, and Violin and Viola (i rather the viola because it isnt as high pitched) My favorie so far is the turntables because of its production value. What other instrument can create all the dynamics that you need to create a full song? NONE, well keyboards and samples maybe, i dunno! http://216.36.252.136/gabrielquicktime/slow/slow.mov Thats a song I did everything on. I sisng on it not rap. Its a video me and my ex did when I lived in Seattle. Damn my hair was long. I bet sigma dont think I look like t-lake with the locks. Check out the thread by IEXIST in the audio downloads section about checking out some raps to hear some of the raps Sigma had mentioned.
  3. We gon use it! We can do a lil mixing and tweeking afterward. People can still lay different tracks over the beat and we can put them together into different parts. When the robot gets his mixer fixed maybe he can drop sumpin. Where Dee at I wanna hear him drop sumpin melodic on dis beeatch. Maybe a lil guitar melody. Hook it UP!..Whos next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. That link was for the record. I think they are on sale in the US. http://www.music123.com/Boss-RC-20XL-i144689.music It cost a bit more. Over here, same price. Hope this helpssssssssssss buddy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Damn thats the place I got my pedal from. Its still under 45 day return policy so I am going to try and upgrade. Thanx Monkey Hands.
  5. YO mIx! It dont sound bad at all. We can work with that, but all the dead space and the extra beat at the end make the file size larger. If your not feeling it give it another stab otherwise I got no problem using this. WHOS NEXT????? MonkeyHands: its not the beat that you and I used. Maybe after its done we can do a scratch rotation on top.
  6. ok! I am all about making the first moves so checki this. Its a loop that MonkeyHands put together for a CoLab he I were working on. The beat didnt end up getting used so lets use it here. Some body create a layer to go on top of this. http://www.oshuncreation.com/gabrielMusic/...+colabbeat6.mp3
  7. The incubus beat would work fine for the sratch rotation like Dee was talking about. It might be a bit busy for the layers idea.
  8. BTW Monkeyhands, what was the process you used? Did you lay down a real long hat loop and then build an entire song on top of it. I found it easiest to lay down like a bar or two and write it to memory. Then I and someone else can scratch some melodies on top of it live. Using the stop pedal for breaks. Who everes running the pedal can also lay a lil bar melody on top and move to a new melody as the song progresses. I dunno just how I do it. What your process?
  9. WTF an XL for the same price. I wanna return mine and get the XL. That link wasnt right. Can you show so I can check on buying one. BTW are they on sale in the US.
  10. I learned that when starting a project you gotta setup the rules and work around them and chang them other wise everyones on different pages. Hope this will help on Mix's idea of layer CoLab. I came up with a way to keep this organized. Its also built on the idea of using loops. You could always keep the same idea and not use loops though. I am going to try and spilt things up evenly. Main Objectives: *Beats: (at least 1 loop , a max of 3) Best if we start with a beat first. *Samples: (at least 2 loop, a max of 6) 1 sample per person. *Bass: Now drop that bass! Somebodies gotta hold up the bottom end with a bassline. *Vocal: A vocal sample isnt always needed and should be added after majority of the track has been laid down. As that a vocal sample carries alot of weight (the hook) it should agreed on by the majority of participants. (This is just an idea to help keep the production cleaner. We can do it tossong back and forth too if its easier.) *Comp: Somebody has to put it all together (in a structure based on a 4/4 time signature and with a break ratio of around 4 to 8 bars.) ( That means you ad a new layer/track/sample every 4 to 8 bars to create a structured build up.) The persom creating the Composistion or the "mix" might not get to add actual samples but his contibution is the structure as a whole. *Hosting: Somebodies gotta make sure we have a way to get these files together. Via email or FTP, or any server space that you can use to help. Each beat/sample should be at least 1 bar long and no longer than 4 bars. With the exceptions of certain samples, ideas and Scratch Sentences. Persons can do more than one objective, but be mindful that this is a "group project" so leave room, and space for everyone to put up. Remember what our parent taught us. Its fun to share. For now we draw straws for an objective. Also be weary of over loading samples. If somones has a sample down maybe try dodging it and not always dropping the sample on top of each other as much one after another. There you have it. Lets see how it goes. Holla!
  11. That beat would be nice to do some cuts over if its loop before the cuts come in. It would be good for the 16 bar scratch rotation that Dee is talking about. I;ll have to get a soundclick account so I can download the MP3. I got some CoLab specs I cam up with. I'll start a thread hold up.
  12. Wzup! The place looks good!
