  1. At least they weren't trying to harness backlinks. *edit this is in reply to deft's first post. Fuck this was easier before mobile. I liked this a lot - especially the end bit, I thought I had exactly how you did it figured out until it started playing without your finger on the keyboard. Gimme a minute..!
  2. There's an unfinished version as a rom, but I bet it won't be long before the version on the snes classic is ripped...
  3. The games do look great on it. Almost tried to get one then thought I'd just use emulators, spent yesterday evening trying to get the steam link to work which was torturous, and have bought a raspberry pi 3 just now. I quite like the idea of getting various pads for old games, I'll make do with the PS4 pads for now otherwise I'll end up spending a ton on pads only for the magic to wear off... To be honest this is a real bargain considering there are two official pads in the box, a decent snes USB pad is £20.
  4. Oh and if pads are okay how about drum kit pads? I'm sure Alesis etc do a big tabla style pad thing with five big pads on
  5. Depending on how much you want to DIY, you could get a midi board from livid or one of the other ones and order a few grabber machine buttons and a block of wood and hack it all together, then as far as timestamping you could use a midi sequencer, or potentially bomes midi translator to turn them into keystrokes for some kind of keylogger or something? I guess if absolute timing accuracy isn't important you could pull a cheap keyboard apart instead of the midi board...
  6. Same, can't play em. I've heard some via twitter where he does that thing where he plays the beat in the studio and waves his hand over the lens, I like the sound of the hood reishi preview I heard and definitely interested in the scratchgod one.
  7. DJ tech tools make knobs and faders and they've just refreshed their range with improved quality apparently, and coolor caps is another one that does different colours. There's probably a ton of others too...
  8. The Reloop superoems have a torque knob.Aha cheers
  9. The refresh is starting to make sense again, the MacBook and MacBook Pro touchbarless models aren't silly money just 'Apple prices' for decent grunt for most people, and the new iMacs are definitely nice - well done for waiting out ha! The Mac Pro is being refreshed next year with a modular design, I believe. With the iMac pro fixing most audio, graphics, and low level video needs, I wonder whether they're going to make it a super computer and aim at taking back share in motion graphics and vfx industry?
  10. It might just be me but I find the full on high torque of super oems to feel a bit less nice... the pdx motor feels great to me, and the ttx torque (not the strongest on the variable ones) too. That said, I wonder whether the higher platter of those two has something to do with it... anyway, I'm quite interested in variable torque super oems, although from what I can tell from briefly keepIng up its technics emulation or arm breaking. I swear there was one with smoothly adjustable torque somewhere? Anyway I'm happy with my str8150s, and the old style paint job doesn't hurt either. I do sometimes hanker for a pair of ttxs, even after having to repair my ttx1s twice each before I finally sold them. My dream deck is a pdx3000 straight arm, but I've never been quite able to put my finger on why, because they don't sound very good in comparison to the Stanton. I think everything else on them is just right. Actually maybe the pdx2000 mk2 pro just for the sheer indulgeance. Not sure. My str8150s cost me 600 the pair second hand when I got them and I felt like I got bit ripped off... inflation's a bitch!
  11. It's been dead a while... maybe mark kept an archive?!
  12. I might be mad but I think Eric might have detailed the 06 mod on skratchlounge...
  13. New one - sound quality is effed beyond belief in this one, it was already bad and YouTube has made it worse... but oh well!
  14. Like this!! It makes me think of Jam, the chris Morris show, for some reason...!
  15. What the fuck?! That was insanely clean! I've never seen that using different fingers on one hand to do upfaders thing either, maybe that's just me though.
  16. Aye that's fair enough, didn't mean to rub it in 😇 I very nearly did the same before buying mine but I'm glad I didn't! In other news I've just dreamed I was vacuuming hair off a very hairy person then went naked swimming.
  17. Pete probably my best ever music purchase has been the rme fireface ucx - soundcards are the most boring thing you can buy but this thing is tits! It's absolutely rock solid and can do an incredible amount of routing and stay rock solid at low latency, stuff that only people with silly setups like me need but makes a massive difference. It's also got the best outputs I've ever had on a soundcard, up there with my Allen and Heath desk in terms of driving my monitors and headphones. I don't see myself ever upgrading from it really, and I think I've used more than 900 quids worth of soundcards searching for incremental improvements in the past 20 years absolutely no problem. It's the boring but sensible but in the really nerdy way quite exciting choice! Oh and it's fully standalone iPad compatible too!
  18. I'm just coming up to the end of your bit (assuming you're doing an hour each). So good. Something about your selection I would never pick or listen to before I hear you do it and then after it's all I want to do ha! I thought the camera was getting a bit close and personal, right under your eyeline must have been a nightmare!
  19. I quite fancy a softube console 1, but it's a bit much I think. Tempting though...
