  1. I couldn't remember his handle on here, but could remember his first name, so done searched my FB friends list and found the fuck.
  2. I would suggest contacting Leighton Harris (he used to lurk here) as he's been having wax pressed over the years, even very recently. He's on FB: https://www.facebook.com/goldielocksnthethreebrares
  3. From DJ Woody: "I really enjoy a good podcast, and honestly I think my favourite DJ specific Podcast is one called 'Once A DJ' by Adam Gow aka DJ Wax On. He's had the likes of Vekked, Jon1st, Santero and more go pretty deep and introspective on their time and experience behind the turntables. So it was a pleasure to sit down with him for a chat and go equally deep, in fact I think we broke the record coming in at 1hr 40 lol. If that's your thing and you want to hear us delve a little deeper, then hit the link in the comments to go have a listen "
  4. Is it anything like sitting on your hand till it goes to sleep, then jacking off?
  5. The appropriate ChatGPT response should have been "Well, what kind of watch?"
  6. No I haven't, but have always heard good things about it. I've been totally considering it lately after my Adobe sub is exhausted, but then read up on similar PS solutions and from what I keep hearing is Affinity is the best alternative. And it's only $69...no subscription. I think I'm going this route. @Steve Sorry for kinda hijacking this thread Steve. I need to start one that's all about AI...been meaning to do so.
  7. Yeah, it's awesome like that. People are using it to create WordPress plugins and even full blown websites. And as in your case, you can be very specific with it, like limiting the output to specific software versions.
  8. You namely need PhotoShop or Illustrator should you need to tweak the image to your liking. Or, the case of a logo, to remove certain parts, add others, and then add your text (e.g. company name and slogan). AI solutions, such as Midjourney, have a difficult time with text. It generally spits out jibberish text, with a jibberish font (sometimes), so one needs to remove this, then add their own. What's cool about it though is it provides really good concepts that you, or a graphic designer, can follow. At this time, Midjourney only works on the discord servers. So, you feed it prompts through a discord server (I set up my own, but you can join existing ones dedicated to Midjourney), and then it spits out awesomeness...most of the time. You can also learn from others in these Midjourney discord forums, specifically what prompts they're feeding it. PS - Fuck PhotoShop, Illustrator and Adobe for that matter. Their monthly subscriptions suck, and their company treats their customers like shit. Instead, you can just purchase alternatives out right, for cheap, such as Affinity Photo and Affinity Design. My Adobe subscription is thankfully almost up, and at that time I'm switching to the aforementioned programs. PPS - Here's an example of a logo created by Midjourney that still needs some work. For example, if I were to use this, I would change the company name (the current one is jibberish) and I would remove the items below it. This logo would be pretty easy to edit, but some of the others require a legit graphic designer to fix. I suck at Illustrator, so I might have to hire said graphic designer for dolling up Midjourney generated logos.
  9. That's one way you can do it, although I haven't had much luck with that route. Yet. Ultimately, you feed it prompts. In other words, you tell it what to do, using clear instructions and the right words, in order. Then you can request variations of a certain design or upscale it. Also depends on what AI solution you're using, then what version. For instance, when I use it to conjure up logo concepts, I've found v4 works much better than v5. However, when creating images like the one above, version 5 is ideal. What helps the most is watching YouTube videos on how to use the right prompts, negative prompts, text weights, lighting, style, etc. To make very specific changes, you need PhotoShop and/or Illustrator. But you can also use similar programs, like Affinity Photo and Affinity Design, respectively. While AI is improving rapidly, it still has its quirks, like 6 fingers on a hand, 3 legs, etc. I find AI is great for coming up with the initial concepts, but then I need to tweak it with legit design software to perfect it. FYI - Midjourney.com is thus far the best AI for image generation out there. I'm literally happy to give them my money. It's not only time incredibly well spent, but it's also productive and lucrative. I'm totally changing my business branding, website and niche (luxury automotive detailers) thanks to this solution and other AI tools, such as ChatGPT. It's literally game changing.
  10. Dayum, that was intense! Glad I didn't watch that before going to bed. Yep, graphics are getting damn good, thanks to AI. Been really embracing AI lately and loving it, but initially it was out of fear of being replaced. Now I see and use it as a tool to make my overall work better, quicker. The web is about to change, big time! Created this a couple weeks ago with the help of AI...
  11. Me too. I don't think I learned this until 2005ish, maybe later.
  12. Yep, they're sooooo far ahead of everybody, both then and now. They epitomize Hip Hop on all levels. I remember driving around town and bumping "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" on my entry level 8s (i.e. cheap speaker box). This is when I started getting into, and actually learning, how to skratch. As stated in other posts, I would practice cutting on my steering wheel, trying to mimic Terminator X, only to find out it was Jimmy Juice who was handling the studio cuts. To this day, I still get goosebumps when I listen to their music. Chuck D raps with conviction, and their overall sound is fuckin' bonkers!!!
  13. Just finished watching this, and let me tell you foo's, this ish is dope AF. Since 1989, PE has been one of my favorite groups and Chuck D one of my favorite rappers. This group is absolutely unparalleled on so many accounts, to this day. Really wish I would have seen them in their prime, circa late 80's and early 90's.
  14. This is still my favorite routine for the following reasons: The way he conducts himself throughout the set is f'n fantastic. His juggles are super clean, and his cuts are pretty nice too and his music selection is dope. Overall, his set is a perfect balance of technicality and musicality. As mentioned in other posts, I generally can't make it through most people's sets 'cause it sounds like trash. Their ego generally gets in the way, and subsequently, it becomes too tech. Not with this set however, it's easy on the ears not to mention eyes.
  15. I've been getting back on the cut lately, especially when @djnumnuts created that thread about purchasing a new mixer and subsequently skratching again. While others have basically posted the same thing over the last several years, it was his post that motivated me to get down. Really glad I did because I've been loving it, but my drum machine and keyboard gets most of the action. On a related note, I've been having issues with my tables. One of them the RCA is clearly fucked, and the other, I don't know what's up. Fortunately there's a local shop that can fix them, I just need to pull the trigger and take it down there.
  16. There's a somewhat big portablist movement in Denver, CO. They hook up every Sunday in the park during the summers, all gathered around the picnic table like a bunch of virgins. They sometimes even take over one of those bike bars, where they ride, drink and skratch around town.
  17. RIP Plug 2, you will definitely be missed. 3ft High and Rising is still one of my favorite albums. So original.
  18. As of last Friday night, I got back on the cut. Was having some static issues before, but they seem to be resolved...until I had another sesh the following night. Still had a good time though. Really miss skratching on the regular.
