  1. I think for me it meant Id explore certain genres more deeply and hence find more new stuff to listen to.
  2. Im not saying premo doesnt deserve it btw - Im just hi lighting factors in the decision
  3. Yeah but all of Hard To Earn vs a large part of Ready To Die...
  4. Yeah man - so its like whats the audience you want? Are you trying to make it more accessible to the masses rather than a report for the scratchers? Thats a challenge - I think about stuff like that with BJJ, like how do you get non participants interested
  5. No problem - coulda been good to show more of the battle in that case. I suppose the question is what did you want the video to do/what story did you want it to tell? Did you make yourself a brief or plan it out? Or did you edit on the fly? Im just micro-picking cos at the moment Im working on a film project at work so Im seeing creatives @ work, and therefore this sort of stuff is at the front of my mind! PS beer soon
  6. the game is different now - you're not just influenced by your peer group and a small selection of magazines, so you're exposed to all manner of new shit by all manner of people. I think the big thing is in your mid to late 20s IMO you stop worrying about your taste reflecting your identity so much, and guilty pleasures become pleasures, and you're less judgemental before listening to something properly.
  7. Yo Doob, my 2 penneth - my focus is all on the edit rather than the photography/camerawork btw IMO the pening montage runs too long - either 1)trim it down or 2) add some wording/explanation of the what the event was. It seems like it was just 2 guys head to head? And also it felt like that took up kind of a short amount of time compared to the ambient/event shots. Don't know if that makes sense? Want me to get the video editor from work to have a look too? Reckon he'd have some cool advice.
  8. Looks more like its about producers that heavily contributed to or entirely produced great albums in the specific years. Hence no premo
  9. Some of it is more disco, some of it is more RnB. Some of it's great, some of it is absolute toss. And don't even start me on Hi NRG.
  10. Really enjoyed Divine Feminine and Swimming, think hes pretty overlooked on this side of the pond. Talented dude who was candid re his problems and matured a lot musically over the years. This one got me. RIP
  11. Just think of him as another DJ Lethal PS ohai
  12. The intro/drop on Shimmy Shimmy is fucking amazing, that can't be denied. Vocally it gradually fizzles out, and its been heard a million times too many.
  13. Any suggestions? A mate is looking to cop some decks...anything that's going for good prices used at the mo? ta.
  14. Between Dan and Phonetic for me. Gotta be Dan tho, total prog rock heat!
  15. Old beat, being lazy. https://soundcloud.com/ikyomusic/walk-to-the-sun
  16. Jesus doobs that's your token answer for every deadline...
  17. It's killing me - where is the first sample from? Is it like some armando iannuci show? I recognise it but don't know where from! Is it Coogan?
  18. lol @ dv collab projects. #6monthstodoamix
  19. Broma for me pls. Very steezy. Loving Dirka's UGK sounds...just needs a bit of tweaking IMO. Good work all round.
  20. As much as I'd like to, I just won't get any time tonight. Next time though
