I dont think my computer picks up the connection fine, when I unplug it without "ejecting hardware" it knows what happened

I tried it....itunes still doesnt pick it up

so I updated my iTunes and my iPod recently..a few days later I go to plug my ipod back into the computer and it doesnt pop up in iTunes for nothing I even reinstalled iTunes again and still nothing.. does anybody know how to resolve this?
