I have a Pixel 6. I've had a few small issues with it, nothing crazy, but lots of people had been complaining about it. But supposedly all the bug issues and stability problems are sorted with the arrival of Android 13 last week. I'm just about to upgrade to it today. Don't think there's many new features but it sorts out the problems

This is what i was waiting for... I actually thought reloop might sneak one out I was so close to buying a RANE one for christmas, I'm glad i didn't. Be nice to just see how they compare... and I'm very used to pioneer gear these days. But like it's not a vinyl style like the rane is it? looks like a motorized version of the CDJs?(how ever that would work....)

Bad news for ifixit.com I've replaced screens on older iphones and replaced usb ports on various android devices and stuff... but things definitely got way harder over the last few years. But yeah, the pricing could be mental. Those modular phones never really took off did they.

I've had a pioneer DDJ SR controller since 2014 that I use for gigs when there's no decks, and I'm not arsed bringing them. I was looking at it the other night at a gig, and I realised i have no idea what the parameter buttons do, they are under the looping function but don't control that. Something to do with the pads, but i haven't needed to learn. Might actually look into it now. I have an S9 that i've also used fuck all over the last while, and it needed a firmware upgrade as I noticed the pads didn't light up, I also couldn't remember what the second little screen did, and had to look up the manual to find out that again, it was a pads related thing. I use cue points, filter knob, the loop buttons and thats about it. Maybe delay a tiny bit when mixing, but hate when people use it scratching. I actually almost prefer to manually use the cue points as a delay/loop feature when mixing out of a track. I've rarely seen a DJ use a feature and thought, "that looks mad useful, i must give that a go"

These days I'm not bothered by having the most up to date phones. Currently on Pixel 3a and I've loved it. Might get a 4a since they're insanely good value, but i'm in no rush to go for this. Maybe by 2023

before covid I was playing gigs 2-3 times a week. I never play at home. I put one evening into that Woody battle, but that was the first time in ages... even when i was gigging, I'd just do serato business on my laptop, and not actually practice or anything. Now i've a baby (and a new guitar), I don't know when the next time will be either... still have them set up, but it's starting to look like they're just taking up space. We don't have a huge apartment at the minute, but will probably buy somewhere next year, so things might change when it's all organized a bit better.
