  1. I hav'nt posted for ages mainly due to being busy with my animation work.

I did this 10 min mix thing. There's 3 deck stuff and some very simple

scratch tracks on there. I am not all that on the cut but I like to mess

around making these little mix's when I get time.

Just so I don't only post a Rave mix up I'll through this up too.

No tracklist as its not really a convential mix as such.

It's done on 3 decks and Adobe Audition with some multitracking

    nothing major really.

Listen if you will it's only 10 mins.

    RIGHT CLICK SAVE TARGET AS

  2. Nice one Craig,

I remember the Dreamscapes I was more Northern

though around Manchester, Liverpool and the Midlands.

I just did a 20 min mix on 3 decks with some piano

and breakbeat tunes from about 91' for a mate.

I'll put it up if anybodies interested.

Tunes are a bit pianoy now I listen to them but

    Happy Days.

  3. 90's hip hop?

I forgot hip hop even existed from 88 to 92 I was too off my face

and so was just about everybody else.

Acid house music and raving thats what it was about.

    I'm telling ya.

    :)

  4. My missus has a business doing a similar thing. I'm

not going to plug it here as it is'nt the place really.

She has a design background and has spent the

last 12 months getting it off the ground.

She has a web site that she set up for the brand

and it has been signed up for an exclusive deal

for a large UK catalogue. It is also stocked in a

boutique in new york as a funky British brand.

She has a very distinct market and some great ideas.

All I'd say is who are you selling t-shirts to.

You need a marketplace and somewhere to sell them

There are loads of customise your own sites around

    just type it into google.

Here's a not so good example below

    design tshirts

The profits are'nt that big either. You have to sell a shit

load of shirts to make owt. There are also some very

professional sites out there doing it already.

    Hope this all helps.

  5. I was so used to a mixing mentality when I started to get

serious about learning to scratch I found flares really difficult to

get my head round. I thought about going hamster but I stuck

with regular and i'm glad I did as it helps my flow I think.

Do them really slow, stick to 1 clicks as well to begin with

it'll take a while but they do come, then move on to 2 etc.

I am not really in a position to give advice as such but I went

through the same thing and thought i'd chip in.

Stick with them thats my advice.

Tony vegas breaks them down pretty well in this vid.

  6. I really liked it. Nice track selection.

Gutted you used Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Clever Trevor

I am working on a mixtape and I have been doing stuff with that

it's a belter, it'll stay now as well as I've spent time on it.

    Again nice mix mate.

  7. What about the supremacy battle?

It was won by the US guy shiftee I think. france were second. I thought

it was pretty forgetable, most people on the scratchworx chat agreed.

I thought the disablists should have placed. I was'nt that keen on exodus

musically. Don't know if it was just hard to see on the stream but could'nt

work out what a lot of the teams were doing, not a lot of scratching in there

    to be honest.

I liked the japanese though I think they deserved it.

Amir khan was on at the same time so was trying to watch both LOL.

Just my opinions, I ain't that up on it all but thought I'd chip in.

I'm looking forward to tonight, although I am not terribly keen on the

hard electronic European style that a lot of people are doing. I like

    it funky, but we'll see.

  8. I digg every oppurtunity I can, I love digging for

vinyl it is a pleasure that has stayed with me for

    many years.

I buy new stuff if I hear something worth buying

I never got in to cd's at all even for listening only

the last couple of months when I got the car.

I have so much vinyl now I could probably stop

buying and not get sick of listening to the stuff

    I have.

Like Matt though I Fooking love records.

  9. I have just spent 3 days updating my missus's machine to XP she has a plotter

she uses's for her busines worked fine on an old 2000 machine.

I am getting errors on all usb ports saying the the device has malfunctioned

and then the usb ports sleep and don't recognise it plug and play.

I have added a registry entry to DisableSelectiveSuspend Blah Blah Blah

I fooking hate computers I know it's a long shot but any ideas, the hardware is fine

as it works on my shiny new dual Xeon machine but I can't run the plotter on there

for logistical reasons. I've had it working on the culprit machine as well just when

you restart it gives the shitty message.

The drivers are FTDI usb>serial drivers by the way.

I also tried reinstalling XP and reinstalling the usb cards and usb drivers all kinds of

    shit.

    Much appreciated

  10. vestax pdx-3's

Always had you down as a technics man matt. Don't know why.

Yeah looks like i could stand all day in there allright, just converting all and sundry to MP3.

Stick a wet floor sign up and prohibit all entry while I ransacked your collection for iTunes.

FLOL lase, Thats not all my vinyl either. Not much Hip Hop though really. I've seen some

serious vinyl collections around, mine is pretty tame really.

  11. Use meters if you can and if your keeping your Xfader curve

on sharp then mix with the ups. Or use the Xfader curve on a

smooth curve. EQ and gain on the fly. Do whatever is more

    comfortable for you. :)

All that does'nt matter anyway cause following on from broke's

    advice.

Forget building up a record collection, learning to mix, cut and

juggle. Go on a reality tv show or get celebrity status somehow

and promoters will be scrambling to book you for gigs.

Works for most celebrities who fancy themselves as DJ's anyway. ;)

  12. How was DMC vekked? Your listed on the DMC site.

It terms of the question try not to make it obvious that your slowing it down.

Just get tight with mixing cause playing out throws all kinds of problems at you

no monitors, crappy equipment and sound systems even in big clubs or events

I have played in the past these problems came up.

Oh and don't forget all the pricks who think they should be dj'ing instead of you

    watching your every move.
