  1. Thats badass. Those backlights look cool. Probably help with eye fatigue too I'd guess. Did it come with that arm or did you already have that?
  2. Yup the first allegations came out around when Cut Chemist and DJ Shadow began touring for Renegades of Rhythm which used Bam's original records. One guy then loads more came out with similar stories. That tour was quickly shelved presumably because of the allegations. I was fortunate to see it in Austin. Was awesome. Think they canceled just before it went overseas. i got a t-shirt at the show. Really cool design but was already leery of wearing it and now... esh. Maybe just around the house.
  3. Shit. I cant think of anything just about stereos either.
  4. I’ll pay you shipping for that Braille tape Yeah I’ve been think about selling a lot of my (non DJ mix) CDs this is pretty good bang for the buck. Will put several of not all the mixes on my car USB drive and be happy with it. I definitely like this better than just getting a digital DL. And way more compact than all CDs.
  5. https://ztrip.bandcamp.com/merch/z-trip-mixtape-master-cassette-usb I bit on it. Like z-trip and always down to listen to mixes. Yoda did something similar a few years back.
  6. Thats a good point about consistency from deck to deck. Never really though about it but it's definitely true.
  7. Oh yeah I had V1s of Gutter's Sewer Slimes. Can't remember if it was on here or what but he saw a pic I posted and messaged me asking if I'd send him the sleeve for the mats. He didn't have any from that original run sadly. Didn't really want to but shit, I can understand for sentimental reasons so mailed em off to him.
  8. That makes sense. I love that both of you (especially Deft) actually have some knowledge on this. I don't do long mixes like that so it will probably never matter but good to know. A little disappointed that it's not analog tho just from a long term functionality perspective but is what it is.... I probably woulda still bought em even knowing that. Probably woulda held onto my old decks tho too. Anyways, I'm just glad it's not like the CDX which I absolutely loved... not sure what the drift was on those but it was definitely noticeable.
  9. I came across this and this forum rant about the 1210 MK5G having digital not analog pitch control. It was new news to me. Apparently everything after that model have digital pitch. I wondered if anyone had any opinions on it. I used to have 3Gs and loved them. Years later bought some used MK5Gs and eventually sold my 3Gs which I slightly regret doing. I can't say i've noticed any difference but wondered if anyone else had info on this. Not real keen to find out tho... to me that's just one more thing that will eventually break. But i don't see myself rushing out to buy some used MK2s like this guy is saying. TBH I mostly use a controller now anyways. Don't recall this ever being discussed so wanted to post about it.
  10. So i got a few to put out that are all very different genres. First is The Independents "Back From the Grave" (2001) This is a great punk/ska album. The official genre is called "horror punk". Joey Ramone was a big fan and helped them a lot. The singer sounds like a cross between Elvis and Danzig. Great album. I would give track highlights but there is hardly a song on there I don't like. It's fantastic start to finish. Second is The Fantstic Plastic Machine (self titled) (1997) I discovered this album while living in Japan in the late 90s. Not really sure why I bought it but glad I did because it totally blew my mind. It's like a modern version of those old surf go-go dance party movies put on tape. I think it was mildly successful in Tokyo but have never met anyone who knew the album in the US and sadly the entire album isn't even available on Spotify but some tracks are. It's part of a Japanese sub-genre called Shibuya-kei which is a fusion of lounge, french pop, bossa nova etc. "L'Aventure fantastique" is my favorite song... it's like the soundtrack for taking acid with Willy Wonka. "Dear Mr. Salesman" and "Bachelor Pad" have that hip surf party feel I was talking about. Some other good ones on there that go from french lounge to something that should have been on Pet Sounds. If you can definitely worth exploring. Third is The Moldy Peaches (self titled) (2001) So you may have heard some of these songs in that 2007 movie Juno but don't let that taint or define it. The band had been broken up for several years when that came out and the movie soundtrack barely brushes the surface of this insane anti-folk album. In my mind this band was completely overshadowed by the much more radio-friendly White Stripes. Also didn't help it was unfortunate enough to be released on September 11, 2001 and contained the song "NYC's Like a Graveyard". Nonetheless it's like a raw but beautiful glimpse into Adam and Kimya's most personal thoughts and feelings. This album is like if you crossed the White Stripes with Daniel Johnston. Very DIY from the cover to the phone ringing in the background on certain songs... it's like nothing else. Whole album is great but some songs to check out are "Who's Got the Crack", "Downloading Porn with Davo" and "These Burgers are Crazy". My wife and kids hate that last song so I play whenever we get burgers to annoy them.
  11. So sad to lose another.... was at Scout camp with my oldest son all last week which is where I heard. Had a series of memories come flooding back of when I was his age and Just a Friend had hit the airwaves... spent the whole week with just the hook stuck in my head and no way to hear the rest. Was sad but also kinda full circle to be at Scout camp with my son when he passed. RIP.
  12. Well and my guess is if there is an upgrade some future games will not be playable on the old Switch like they did with certain exclusives only available on the "New Nintendo 3DS."
  13. oooh that would be nice but like you said not gonna upgrade unless they do a OLED pro
  14. Dead at 50. RIP. Legend in my book. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/blackalicious-rapper-gift-of-gab-dead-1189400/amp/
  15. Oh man, yeah Kingdom of Hearts is on my list too. Never done Unchartered. I really dig the Just Cause series (especially 3).
  16. A friend gave me their old PS4 so been playing some exclusives and games I didn't have already that went on sale. PGA Tour 2k21. Really good. I like golf games... just chill but challenging. The last big one was Rory and it was a little more like Golden Tee with controls for better or worse. This still has some similar swing dynamics but it's a lot more to it... less arcadey is what I'm trying to say while still keeping the arcade style features that worked. Also better character customization... on Rory I had to make a Beef Johnston sans beard which was a travesty. Alienation. Holy shit this is badass. A twin stick shooter like no other. It's super fun and I'm ridiculously addicted. Horizon Zero Dawn. Wow. I didn't expect this to suck me in that was supposed to be Spider Man (which has been a snore fest). Crazy good game. Currently my #1 fav game. Zone of the Enders the 2nd Runner: MARS. Barely played this but I loved ZOE on PS2 so jumped when I saw it. If they would also remake Virtual On and Phantom Crash then my life would be complete.
  17. You ever played Among Us? My kids talk about it but no idea what it's about. Age of Empires is always one i'll shell out money for then probably never play.
  18. That *could* be a real game changer (rimshot). Seriously if they pull this off it aligns very well with their push to be more of a content provider rental service. Very smart move IMO but also is hard to predict consumers. I think the big thing is tying up TV manufacturers so it's included in all Smart TVs. That really would hurt most of their competition.
  19. Was Rock Well in charge before? I might if nobody else does...
