  1. Yesterday in Toronto during the last day of the Canadian DJ show. Our very on Vet Cuts repped hard and beat out 16 other competitors to win the DMC Canadian East Coast Scratch Championship. Not sure if there will be a national competition later this year during the full DMC competition. There must be footage somewhere. But here's the announcement of Vet winning. Some footage by DJ T-Jr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8XEAVs8sYM

  2. Hello, When I started scratching I thought I was the shit. I was not. It wasnt untill years later that I realized something important. I started to analyze what I was doing, so I could do it whenever I wanted, whenever. All my mistakes became my strengths. I analyzed what I was doing, I analyzed the structure of my solos - the overall shape of it: how to start, what happens in the middle, what should the end be like. It seems alot of people do not do that, its all about how to do this or that scratch. No dramaturgy So after all this some good things happened. People said I was original. Me and my man Plato met Manipulate and Maroon. I really belive that everyone can do that - just listen to yourself and analyze. Everyone has got incredible potenitial. Listen to what the fuck youre doing - everyone has their signature. Try to figure out what youre doing wrong, thats what youre doing right. Goethe (google him), said that when you're in your youth you should focus on details. Small things like poems about one particular flower. Larger works should be postponed till later years. I think he's right. dramaturgy

  4. 7"s are definately fun if you have a protable deck, but I don't normally opt for them if im cutting on normal decks. BUT i've seen some people really get down with em cos of their lighter feel and the small size makes certain things easier (and some things harder). I also prefer 7" if im playing a 45's set too obviously so i can take em all in one 7" bag. in that casse having skipless 7"s is a real help so you can just throw it on and start cutting.

  5. I do all of my drum programming through my Native American Indian spirit guide who speaks to me in my dreams like the one in that shitty Doors movie starring Val Kilmer.. He suggests certain breakbeats I might enjoy using and how to apply bitcrushing the most effectively.

  6. "Everybody knows I go to Georgia often Got on a flight and I ended up in Boston" Maybe that one cos I'm going to Boston soon - will be interested if I accidentally end up in Georgia. I remember going to New York and getting in the cab and seeing signs for Linden Boulevard which immediately set off Tribe lyrics.

  7. I like the idea of having a pedal that goes the extra mile. I'm sure the EMU chips are long gone, but how about a peer - the MPC60, for example? Having said that, I have no fucking clue how to actually do any of this stuff so who am I even kidding?

  8. He comes across like a nob and explains it in such a corny, condescending bullshit way. buuuuuuuuuut underneath the horseshit, he has a point. I think scratching is one of the only artforms that got way worse as the technical side of things improved. Half of the really really good scratchers can't scratch for shit now. They seem to have no idea how to actually scratch. I start listening to their videos and I turn off after like 10 seconds cause there is nothing else I have any interest in hearing. It's just a barage of boringness. Beyond sloppy scratching, simple scratching etc. the absolute worst type of cutting for me is boring cutting. And it seems that there is now only a handfull of scratchers who ain't boring. But that handfull are fucking dope because they have incorporated the technique and still try to sound nice. As for Milennials. You can all suck my ballbag. The only reason I have any time for any millenials, is boning the chicks, cause old ass chicks my age look like shit.

  9. He really should watch Vekked's 2015 DMC routine - that was the essence of funky. Or he could just go back to repeating beat juggles from 1992.
