Guest rasteri
Pioneer's penchant for tiny non-replaceable fuses strikes again!
Deft
What a faff. I always think the best of people so I hope there is a better explanation than "Pioneer are awkward cunts".
Mutis Mayfield
Very interesting (and how hard is to dissassemble that mixer f##k!)
Guest Symatic
ugh......... more future hazardous waste. make things servicable! its a good idea! thanks rasteri, even though i don't own this mixer as i suspect it will be an expensive brick in 5 years after OS updates, intel flaws and discontinued but essential components render it completely useless. I'm just glad theres peeps that figure this shit out!
DJ Rock Well
Not so much with the S-9 yet (although I totally agree with Si on the long term propsotion of DVS mixers), but as time moves on I become more and more aware of how important serviceability and the use common components is. Look at the Scratchbox PSU issue - they tried so hard to make as good as they could at the time, but a decade+ later and a potted completely unique PSU becopmes a huge headache. I also concur that we are very lucky there's Andy and others out there with the skills and inclination to work this stuff out.
