djdiggla
Half the list was bullshit... trying to think of who should be in there that wasn't mentioned... https://massappeal.com/best-rap-duos-all-time-22-twos/?utm_source=Mass+Appeal+Subscribers&utm_campaign=1922158b06-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_08_27&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_fe77ab107b-1922158b06-106725717#smif-wessun-cocoa-brovaz

Guest broke
Method Man & Redman? That was more of a collab than an official duo. I thought most of the list was okay. I'm glad they had UGK in the top five.

I was thinking MC Search and Pete Nice or Rodney O and Joe Cooley.Uhhh, Q-Tip and Phife?Mos Def and Kwali?Lateef and Lyrics BornDude great ones (mos and talib were in the list tho)
Guest broke
Uhhh, Q-Tip and Phife? Part of a larger crew, not a duo Mos Def and Kwali? Collab (but on the list anyway?) Lateef and Lyrics Born Not that good? NEXT
Guest rasteri
Rodney O and Joe Cooley. Apparently it's just duos in which both members are MCs. Otherwise there's MANY more missing from that list, haha

Lateef and Lyrics BornNot that good? NEXT Aye dog, aye. First of all, errbody damn well know that Tribe Called Quest's MCs were Q and Phife. Busta probably rapped on more TCQ tracks than Jarobi. Second of all, if Mos and Kwali are a "collab" then Jay Z and Kanye are a collab. Sure Black Star IS on the list but , wait .... look over there! ..... .... Third of all, how are you gonna rank Lil Wayne and whoever he happens to re collabing with over Latryx? That's some old bullshit.
joeClockwork
So the criteria is two rappers who either handle production themselves or get beats from a third party. djdiggla
^^so they can't have a DJ as a third official member, right?
joeClockwork
I suppose it depends on the definition of official third member. EPMD was made up of Erick and Parish and DJ Scratch was their DJ. Before Scratch they had K La Boss, but neither of them was ever considered to be an integral part of EPMD, they were just a DJ for hire. Whereas Ali Shaheed Mohammed was an integral part of ATCQ, which is why they don't feature on the list. I don't know. It's a bit of a daft list if you ask me! It's a bit of a daft list if you ask me!If it was groups with two MCs in them, it would make more sense. Then you could add all the above plus Dilated Peoples and the like. Not sure how you'd categorise Public Enemy in that though. They're obviously a group rather than a rap duo, even if they only have two MCs - or is it one MC and a hypeman? Or is it just bollocks?
djdiggla
Yeah that makes more sense to me. A group or regular team up of two MCs regardless of if they have a DJ in the group.
jeljms
How about a list of rap groups with at least one member that nobody can work out what they actually did? Example: Jarobi from ATCQ.
