That's really cool. If I did it I'd probably wanna put the electronics in the mixer rather than the turntable.

Also he's kinda doing it an unnecessarily complex way, which won't give you very good vinyl tracking. Better to hack something together using a linux-based board and xwax.

I now have a fully Ubuntu'd up Touchscreen Netbook and am slowly adjusting to sudo-ing my tits off :)

Progress is slow (because I sadly have fuck all time to dedicate to it) but progress is happening

Similar solution was shown at Pt01 thread. You see djplayer but this is not timecode feed into the software directly, it pass throught schmidtt trigger phase to make it a midi controller.

I know this app (and the developers too, they are located in Budapest). For the DVS function you need to buy the app, but it works great.

This is my attempt to process dvs signal in my hardware and make MIDI out of it, and send it to the DJPLayer app.

Not sure if crossforum quoting will work until I hit "send" xD

Agreed about external or mixer integration but instead linux why not an ipad with djplayer? Maybe more latency (not necessary too much) but full features, midi compatibility and external maintenance instead of meshing oneself... And it works with ipad1/iphone4 models too!

Anyways schematics and details point some info by themselves:

One huge issue with doing anything on iOS is obviously the cost of the hardware. The idea with using Linux is to use a Raspberry Pi and existing Xwax software which is going to be a lot more affordable. Additionally Xwax is opensource

Total cost is hardware plus software. Developing any of them is a huge effort but anyways if you want to go these route then:
