JonnayP
I don't know if this really counts as modding, but I'm looking to upgrade the stylus on my pt01 Scratch - anyone got any advice? I'm looking at European based suppliers. US to Europe postage isn't worth it and want to avoid China. Also, anyone know if the pt01 Scratch ships with a saphire or diamond stylus? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks, Jon
mixmastamullet
more inspiration for all ya... i also added little 20mm line faders to my PT01 - they are linear though - I kinda like the curve they're offering... they do fit perfectly into those 4 plastic thingys around the platter... One Fader was about 0,70 so it's no big drama to abuse em - I actually been rocking that pair for 2 years now and never did anything beside some cleaning spray (pressure air (?) only) ... the buttons are for start/stop (PT01) and the other one is for stop on my RC3 Loopstation - or your MPC, APC... anything that supports a footswitch..(replaced the 45 adapter with another speaker) also.. how about a target light? the one I used was from a brand called Hollywood sth sth - way cheaper then a Vestax or Numark one... missing stuff on the recent update is the rechargeable battery, the nanofader PCB for my Pro-X, a Shure M44-7 and the ultra-pitch + reverse-mode... hope to have it finished before the 7PT drops can't wait til someone comes up with a solid solution to stabalize the platter... *sigh* Hey man. I was just wondering what speaker you built into your turntable, how you did it and how it sounds. I'd like to get a decent speaker in mine, guessing sticking a speaker with its own battery would get the loudest results? A minirig wouldnt fit but something like that?Cheers
djlogix
Numark PT01 Scratch - Look Ma' No Cables! Modd Hi, just finish a first prototype to a modd to the PT01 Scratch, basically is adapting an Internal Audio Source with USB Drive, SD Card, Bluetooth and leave all the original functions intact, so you could still use the original AUX-IN with it's gain and the USB transfer port for music transfer and iOS/Android DVS. More important this hack now makes the PT01 Scratch a truly portable scratch solution, no phones or external devices need as a second music source, no more cables, no more draining your device battery, no additional chargers! djlogix
Great idea logix I've been thinking about a way to add usb to my pt-01 what are those things called ?They are called MP3 Decoder Board, it's a DIY board for projects, it will basically act as an intermediate board between the PT01S AUX-IN board and the PT01S Output board Look for them in eBay as "MP3 Decoder Board" or "MP3 Decoder Board Bluetooth" This is the one I got. http://www.ebay.com/itm/152278026152?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITEdit 11/15/2016: English voice menus http://www.ebay.com/itm/181989312460?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The key here is to get one that has AUX-IN in a JST 3-PIN connector, here is where the original PT01S AUX-IN connector OUT will be connected. I'll elaborate more in the build video and post. Edited November 15, 2016 by djlogix

Diggedydave
Hey guys! I absolutely love this thread and i think i´ve read almost every comment in it Im new here and i want to do some mods on my Numark PT01 USB. Currently i´m working on a start stop button, but i want to change it from latching type to the soft type as waxcutter explained in his post. But my main question / idea is this: I still have a new "Pro x Fade" Crossfader at home which i won in a battle back in 2012.Is it possible to get this crossfader in the inside of the Numark? If its possible, it should have a sharp cut-in...@rasteri: Maybe with the nanoboard? The Raiden Fader is not satisfying for me, cuz i don´t like the cut in time and it´s not smooth enough for my taste. So i´m a rookie in the game, but like Djmadhatter, i want to try a lot of things, do it on my own and i´m not afraid of electronics, soldering etc. Just need some advice!Thank you guys! Big up for your great work and all informations...

evil98
Been lurking on this thread for a while, time to contribute. This is my non-latching start/stop mod. Pretty straight forward. I utilized this relay module in place of the tone arm switch and a standard 24mm arcade buttonI haven't decided where to mount the button yet but everything works. The relay is kind of loud but not that bad. I'm looking for a similar module that uses a solid state relay to avoid the click of the relay.

Guest rasteri
You could just use a smaller (quieter) relay, that thing's rated something like 20x the current of a PT-01 motor.

Yeah you control the volume from the decoder device itself for its sources, and yeah it retains the ability to plug external sources as before, including the USB to connect to your computer or to DVS software like edjing via mobile device Edited November 24, 2016 by djlogix
jam1chicago
Elliot at Innofader modified a small batch of innofader PNP's to hook up to the PT-01 scratch turntable as simple as plug-n-play, only 15 at first but their next gen about to drop is going to have this option as a standardI was able to use a fader plate to mark off a template from the inside where I wanted the fader to rest, cut a slit for the fader stem to push through, and drill holes for the fader to screw into, as well as counter sunk the holes so the screws wouldn't extend out the surface of the turntable. Next up I'll be skinning this via 12inchskinz to cover the original scratch switch hole as well as a heap of other mods that are popular in the portablist scene, as well as a few obscure ones I've been eyeing to do! CoolorCaps on the fader cap, Innofader inside, baby super seal red variant. Follow me on instagram at www.instagram.com/JAM1PHOTO

mikekimonkey
Hey djlogix, I bought the sound interface that comes with the chinese voice over, found solution and it sounds english now~ Download this file (no virus) and save it to SD card, put it into the SD card slot on your interface, press MODE button few times till u hear BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP, then power off and turn back on, voila~~ ENG VO file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p17436j1m1bf988/jl_bt46.bfu Video demo: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u0i90ckb40v5yg1/IMG_8646.MOV Im currently working on the contactless fader using IR slot sensor, found this with logic output so the respone is fast and sharp, 0.5μs max rise and fall times, not as fast as some of the others (some others with just 10nano second!!!) but Im very happy with that IR slot sensor: http://uk.rs-online.com/webdocs/1327/0900766b81327ae2.pdf Demo: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2bo3cb5uy2sc3oc/IMG_8649.MOV Circuit on breadboard: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gambeqbd2tspete/IMG_8650.JPG Fader(IR sensor switch): https://www.dropbox.com/s/njqkzl8n6dq3wg2/IMG_8651.JPG Im still looking for a accurate circuit for the start stop button, anyone know any circuits for momentary push switch as start/stop button work with low current? johnbeez
For a momentary switch start/stop you can use one of these Polulu boards (low voltage model).https://www.pololu.com/product/2808 Silent and solid state. Works really well, the only downside is if you are also running an ultrapitch board this will make a speaker pop when you start the motor. Haven't bothered to find a fix for that. I just run it without the PWM ultrapitch.
