CUSTOM EFFECTS IN AUDITION

There are a lot of interesting custom effects that can be produced in Audition by toying with the various filters. I recently noticed that you can achieve some really cool ones by matching the frequency of the effect with the frequency of sound.

Here's one that will turn your audio in R2D2. This trick works best with songs that have vocals or high peaks.

for Adobe Audition 1.5

1) Load your audio into audition

2) in the "edit" view, select the entire wavelength

3) go to "Effects"-->"Noise Reduction"-->"Noise Reduction"

4) In the top-right corner in the box labeled "noise profiles", choose "capture profile", clicking okay through any pop-ups

5) In the "Noise Reduction Level" bar underneath the graph, move the bar all the way to the right at "high" (the value should be 100)

6) In the second graph from the top, there will be a blue line with a white square at each end. Move the square on the right all the way to the bottom, so that it gives the line a negative slope.

7) In the bottom right corner, click on preview. The sound will be faint.

8) Drag the white square at the left of that blue line to about .5 cm from the bottom of the graph window.

8) There ya go...toy around with the slope of the line to change which frequencies turn into the R2D2-like sound.
