Ericuk's new super computer

I'm not really super techy so I'll spare all the details, but here's the backstory...

3 years ago I built a high spec pc for £1300. x79 champion mobo, 3930K processor (3.2 six core), 32gb DDR3 (1333) with an ssd.

It was pretty rapid and used for Cubase, although I must admit that I haven't been heavily involved in music production enough to push the limits of the computer.

Last month I ordered a built-to-spec pc for £1300. 7700K processor (i7 4.2 Overclocked to 4.8), 32 gb DDR4 (2400) with a 256gb NVMe M.2.

I've got to say that on first impressions.... It's isn't noticeably faster!

my more developed projects are a combo of samples and vst's with hella fx, so pushing the limits of a computer is perfectly possible. Processing like timestretching is also faster I find. When I'm up and running it will be interesting to see what this new one can do.

so 8k porn?

I think as computers get faster you'll see that final few percent close up on quality, like zero delay feedback being close-as-damnit achieved as brute force oversampling will become the norm. That's my guess, anyway, all data being calculated at super high oversampling rates and downsampled instantaneously for the final output at single digit sample buffer sizes.
