Ok, back home and just taken some pics, the mod isn't a new platter (yet), more a stiffener for the standard platter, I do plan to make a bespoke platter with decent ball bearings but I don't have the time at the moment, also a little worried about it being too heavy? I may try to improve the disc I made by adding a small lip at the bottom to help keep the belt on when replacing the platter, I made a couple of these from some scrap aluminium at work so didn't have much choice on the diameter. It has a tapered hole in the centre to grip the spindle surround and it fits tight in the part the belt fits round. The holes make it a little lighter (weighs around 80 grams I think) and they help when removing it. Interestingly, the disc needed to be a fraction larger for my pt01 scratch compared to the original pt01, maybe a manufacturing defect or the plastic mold getting worn out over time, it was only 0.1mm larger but it meant the first disc I made didn't fit the scratch. Anyway, it works pretty good! ill post a vid when I can get some way to hold my phone steady while doing scribbles Oh and thanks to abstrk.theories for the photo bucket tip!
