Guest Dylan Taylor
wait if the table is the same as the pdx except has a footpedal, how can it have crazy torque?, pdx' are 1.7 or 1.8 kg/cm or something like that<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Mike- I dunno exactly, all I know is I've cut on it numerous times, and it's not the same as any old PDX. and the table's pitch itself is way beyond any pdx...Chill, and wait to buy it. Peace.

milk
PDXMK2 is 2.8 and it feels roughly the same as my TTX must be pretty strong. Is that really needed? 2.8 was fine.
Steve
Stanton T120's have 4.5 kg-cm of torque. Highest on the market.
milk
Yeah same as the PD45s from Citronic. Though is all that torque needed? I think its a bit extreme. Edited March 12, 2005 by milk
Steve
I suppose it affects how quickly the turntable responds to changes in pitch, so if you're using it for melodies etc. then more torque is better.
milk
Hmm, maybe, I guess the motor does too though, the PD45 has 4.5 worth of torque, my TTX has 3.7 yet my PDXMK2 is the most responsive and has the least torque?Confusing though. I guess it depends how its made, maybe its to reduce the strain put on the motor.
Steve
Yeah, it must depend on the strength of the motor, how it's connected to the platter and also the speed and accuracy of the pitch control.
Mixologist
milk, 2.8 kg/cm are you sure? i wasn't aware there was a motor change from the pdx mk1 to the pdx mk2....
milk
Yes mate, I just bought a PDXMK2 a few days ago the manual states that there is 2.8 kg worth of torque.
