UREI 1601

I know someone who bought one off Hard To Find when they clearing them out for cheap...

It arrived from new with a broken channel and he's not really a DJ and very slack so he never "got round to returning it".

I seem to remember the faders were kinda average - like a cheaper version of a Vestax one, with tiny fader caps and overly larger cut in distance.

When these came out there was a lot of excitement because it was branded Urei, but in reality the brand was owned by Soundcraft and it was just another mixer made from the usual generic Chinese(?) parts everything else was. Not necessarily rubbish of course, but all the people who thought they were buying the same Urei as the 70s legend were kidding themselves.

I had a 1601S. It had some weird quirks but it was overall a great mixer.

Died after a couple of years though. As did my friends' one, and two customers. This was before I had repair chops so I dunno how easy it would have been to fix.

The sampler on it was crap though, I thought I would use it like a looper but it ended up being rubbish for that (I can't remember why exactly but there was some bug in it that made it unusable).

Probably the 1601E is the one to go for
