  1. I'm more excited by this announcenemt, to be honest: Having played the excellent Half Life remake "Black Mesa" recently, I'm left puzzled how a game designed in 1998 still beats the experience of nowadays AAA titles. Games used to be surprising and challenging. Now, all those open world games just tell you to move to location XY on the map, start the quest and if you fail a checkpoint five times, you can just skip it (looking at you Red Dead Redemption and to a lesser extent games like Fallout, Skyrim or Witcher 3). Where's the accomplishment in following basic instructions (come here, grab this, take it there, shoot 3 enemies or skip it if you're too dumb for that)? /oldmanrant
  2. You could have just told me that you don't like my guitar playing. Instead, I had to find it out like this... 🤬 (cunt)
  3. Just pulled the trigger on Steam and got Red Dead Redemption 2 while it's on sale. Factoring in my internet connection, it should only take three months to download those meager 120 GB. Pretty sure that Windows updates and other file clutter will show up once it's installed, so no more disk space for savegames. Oh well, perma death mode it is...
  4. This is the only game I play right now: Is anybody playing Baldur's Gate 3 by the way? Based on the raving reviews, you probably won't visit DV (or do boring adult stuff like laundry and cooking) if you actually play it.
  5. Summer sale at GOG with tons of games on offer: https://www.gog.com/de/promo/2023_summer_sale
  6. Orbits and, more importantly, making Pastrami sandwiches for the Skratch Piklz while on tour.
  7. Completely forgot about having an account, so no updates for 7 years. 😄
  8. (This tune was actually written by DJ Disk for the Prince of Denmark in 1638 - credit where credit is due)
  9. Thanks everyone - I forgot about the TRX and will keep looking. There's a shoddy DIF-1S which looks OK if I can find a good one. I like the 707's quality and fader but I'd prefer to get something smaller, something about the size of a Pioneer 250 maybe. I'd mostly use it for some rare sessions, mostly dropping samples and scratching just a little bit. ( #FellOff )
  10. I currently don't have a mixer and don't look to get too serious about scratching again, but if there's a decent option at about 100 bucks used, I might change that. Looking for: At least decent crossfader and not terrible sound quality. A few simple effects. Small. I know the old stuff like UMX and Stantons, but I'm not familiar with the new Mixar and DJ-Tech stuff and since there may be more OK-ish models, I thought I'd ask if there are any recommendations.
  11. Do you recommend any VPN extensions in 2022? Lots of them want you to pay and I don't know which ones are trustworthy. I guess I'd also pay a small monthly fee if it's more secure.
  12. Me in every DV scratch battle I've participated in. 😡
  13. Have you seen Public Enemy? Terminator X's last name is "X", right? And I'm sure that you're hiding your attendance to several Suzi Quatro concerts from us.
