ELGEE
I just bought a faulty dj tech dif 2s from someone on eBay and ot was supposed to have a issue with the crossfader but after having a test the fader works great but Im only getting sound from the left side of the mixer. Is this possibly a blown channel?
kebzer
What about the headphones? Does the sound come out OK?
ELGEE
I havent tried that as I dont use HPs, will that indicate if the channel is blown?
ELGEE
The issues has solved itself, seems to be working fine now.???? Im really happy as I only paid £8 for it lol
kebzer
Yes, if a channel is blown, the HPs will only play on one side. Also, if the headshell/needle reads only 1 channel, it will again show on HPs.
Guest Symatic
Have you opened it up and looked for anything that looks a bit fucky?

ELGEE
The channel cuts in and out, have fuck around with the line switch to get it to kick on. It seems to work better the longer its on. I havent opened it as yet but is there anything I should look for ?
Jam Burglar
The obvious culprit would be your line switch. I just recently had to replace one that had similar symptoms. If you can't find a replacement switch, you may be able to clean the switch or swap the two switches to at least isolate the problem. Could also be a cold solder joint. If you can find the circuit that deals with that channel, look at the solder joints that are cracked or look cloudy (basically anything that's not shiny silver solder). Sometimes when something heats up the solder expands enough to make contact and the symptom can become flaky. I'm leaning toward your line switch since you say messing with that can get it to kick on.
