Pioneer's penchant for tiny non-replaceable fuses strikes again!

What a faff. I always think the best of people so I hope there is a better explanation than "Pioneer are awkward cunts".

Real DJs use SL1200GAEs

ugh......... more future hazardous waste. make things servicable! its a good idea!

thanks rasteri, even though i don't own this mixer as i suspect it will be an expensive brick in 5 years after OS updates, intel flaws and discontinued but essential components render it completely useless. I'm just glad theres peeps that figure this shit out!

Not so much with the S-9 yet (although I totally agree with Si on the long term propsotion of DVS mixers), but as time moves on I become more and more aware of how important serviceability and the use common components is.

Look at the Scratchbox PSU issue - they tried so hard to make as good as they could at the time, but a decade+ later and a potted completely unique PSU becopmes a huge headache.

I also concur that we are very lucky there's Andy and others out there with the skills and inclination to work this stuff out.
