  1. This is fucking great Dan, I saw the hype around this a little while back and hoped it was your boy - didn’t know for sure as I thought the name might be a bit common!
  2. Can vouch for that, the original ones certainly. Only problem is the weight if you move them around - they’re 17kg each! the other thing is that, for the original (old logo) versions at least, the covering on the plastic buttons goes sticky and gross so you have to scrub it off and the rubber on the underside is also getting tacky - but on top of that the main paint they used on the whole thing has started to dissolve on mine, and this is both so it’s not a one-off. operation wise they’re as good as it gets but they’re just a bit too torquey for my absolute preference, pdx-ttx range is the ultimate IMO. Most super oems are that 4.5kg torque and it’s super stable but lacks a bit of ‘human’ feel.
  3. I w started seeing ttxs in videos over the past few months. When they worked I absolutely loved mine but I got sick of replacing the motor controller IC - three times across two decks iirc. I know the newer ones were supposedly better but it still worries me.
  4. I started death stranding when it was cheap after seeing it get eviscerated in the reviews, but I really enjoyed it when I started to understand it. Haven’t played it in a month or so but I’m about 10 hours in. im streaming castlevania symphony of the night which i always meant to get around to but never did, and enjoying that. I was really looking forward to cyberpunk and nearly built a pc to play it on, I can’t see myself making a pc now unless money is no object because the value for money is so bad compared to the new consoles… I need to do a list of games I actually want to play though, because I’ve barely played for a generation and there must be three or four games I would absolutely love in the past eight years or whatever.
  5. You could paint pva glue, or even epoxy onto the record and use a grout comb...
  6. A metre from a sound source contributes around 3ms latency, so for instance a grand piano player gets about 5-10ms or so and a drummer gets all different from their various pieces. Add 8ms to the 3 youre getting from your monitors under most environments, whether club monitors or home studio setups, I think theres other factors at play when it comes to DVS not feeling quite right - as JB says the lack of thump and rumble is one, and not feeling the feedback from the vibration under the needle is another. Because you can actually feel a kick or an aah or whatever underneath your hand theres more directness - Ive often wondered whether that can be simulated via haptic feedback. Ive often heard 8ms is the golden number for distinguishable latency to the experienced ear. A bit less than 120th of a second.
  7. At a complete uneducated guess, perhaps its a measurement of lateral motion it will handle?
  8. Stop moaning - the fix is complimentary!
  9. Could you use some phrases from the verses/hooks of massive tracks, do something like whats the difference by Dre and scratch the hook yourself?
  10. 6th sense by common is a big backpacker favourite thats probably quite well known
  11. Battle by Gangstarr is one of those tunes that everyone seems to know, and its a brass band sample! Maybe a brass band version of worst comes to worst by dilated peoples could be cool
  12. Behringer is historically shit, and the reason its still continually sold is because its cheap and its everywhere, and if you go to a dealer saying Ive got 50 quid can I have a full studio theyll just shift it to you. The reason it has a bad reputation is because its historically shit, its not magic. Ive never met anyone with a good thing to say about behringer, everything they have either doesnt work properly, broke, or never worked in the first place. Ive seen tons of schools and community arts places with behringer stuff that was sold to them because it was cheap and it was all fucked and sounded like shit. The company is built on replicated visual designs and knockoffs, and whilst its noble that Uri built a big enough empire to buy out some former titans in firesales its laughable to say that buying an age old xenyx or something is good value. I gave them another chance a couple of years ago and bought a motor keyboard online and it went back immediately because half the keys felt like they had treacle poured in them, the knobs were all over the place, and the motorised faders didnt work properly. Yes theres the Midas stuff, and yes the new analogue stuff is somewhat promising, and to an extent - although I know it was plagued with build to price not user and politics - the cmd range was genuinely ambitious, I think the research has been done. This board never really used to have knowitalls that were so bitchy, it kind of sucks the soul out of things if you have to think oh whats the fucking point Ill have to craft a serious and academically cited reply if I get into it every time you go to post.
  13. No wait wait I meant... I meant... Im not a rollerblader
