DJ Rock Well
Or was this a concern of 10 years ago? I'm trying to burn an mp4 video to DVDs to be played on a DVD player, using WinX DVD Author on Windows 10.

DJ Rock Well
Thanks mate, I was pretty sure that was the case but my boss wants me to buy some for him and although he knows nothing himself and knows I'm not particularly knowledgeable (or interested) myself, I will expected to get it right! Guest rasteri
It used to be that if you were burning shit to play in normal consumer DVD players you were better off with DVD-R, but as long as you have a DVD player made this century it probably doesn't make a blind bit of difference. djdiggla
I thought you could use +R if you finalize it. Oh... you know what--I'm probably thinking about RW. I think the +R is really only an issue if you are using a direct audio to CD live recorder.
Guest rasteri
No you're right, +R was intended for applications where you don't wanna write the whole disc at once, like standalone DVD recorders and video cameras and stuff. You could then finalize it and it would work in most DVD players but there were some fussy ones that complained.
