Phology
I'm considering using my TV as a computer monitor, is it as simple as using something like this?Guys at work are saying it depends on my PCs graphics card, which, considering how old my computer is isn't gonna be great. Guest Symatic
make sure it's an Active adapter, as VGA is an analog signal that needs to be turned into Digital HDMI to go to a HDMI port on a telly. here's one that says it's active: http://www.netstoredirect.com/startech-com-cable-interface-gender-adapters/10119-startech-com-hdmi-vga-converter-0065030850926.html?gclid=COqo-b3F78oCFesV0wodq44Kjg

Guest rasteri
Alternatively if your PC has DVI out then you can use a passive DVI to HDMI cable which will be cheaper

Frost
As long as you can send a digital signal from the VGA port through a converter to HDMI you should be fine I think. Whats all this 'active' business?

Whats all this 'active' business? VGA is analogue so it has to be converted to digital via an active converter.
Phology
Hmm....I've been looking into this a bit more, and the only adapters I can find (I think) convert HDMI to VGA, not the other way around....? Basically I want to go from the VGA OUT on my computer tower > HDMI IN on my television. Do these adapters work both ways? I was just gonna buy this one until I thought it might not work the way I want? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201094412658?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
