  1. I started using the internet in College, circa 1993. Initially I was using it for alt sex rooms and such, thus mostly reading sex stories. The summer of 1995 I didn't have net access any longer given that I wasn't in school, but when I switched colleges and got back online after a 3-4 month hiatus, I was blown away by how much the world wide web grew. Now when I did searches, there was a "Next 10" near the bottom of the search results, which was not the case in '93, as there were seriously limited results. In 1996, after seeing the web continue to grow exponentially, I decided to learn web design. Not so much because I wanted to make websites, but because I couldn't afford to hire someone to build a website for my new venture, The Book Trade. I started The Book Trade at Colorado State University so students could trade their textbooks with each other, as opposed to selling them back to the bookstore for a serious loss at the end of each semester. Or buying books from the CSU bookstore for crazy prices. Back then, it was common to pay $100 per text book, but only receive $15 per book upon selling them back. Shortly after starting that business, I decided to lean into web design because I really liked it, plus I saw a growing need for businesses to be found online, especially real estate companies. 27 years later, I'm still making websites and still absolutely love it.
  2. As of a few months ago, I began using various AI writers to create articles for a client's website (tested 4 of them). While they all produced seemingly good content (diction was on point), all but one passed AI detection (mostly). Perceived human written articles tend to rank higher (often substantially higher) on Google, therefore passing AI detection is paramount. Fast forward, these AI generated articles are climbing the search engines pretty well, however, the human created ones are dominating. I'm still in a testing stage though, so the jury's out. Will report back on this later. BTW, the AI writer I'm focusing on is called Agility Writer and it's very flexible. Two of the things I really like about it are the included AI generated images and the auto posting to WordPress plugin. Human features, such as hands, are sooooo much better now. Before it was common for AI generated images of people to include janky fingers, often resulting in 6 or more digits. They're getting it right now though as the images look legit (usually). Before it was taking me soooo long to gather up quality and related imagery, but not anymore. Thank Golly!
  3. My first pair of legit slipmats were Sewerslimes, back in eaaaarly 2k.
  4. Ho-ree-fuck, this is going super well. Cables came yesterday; I came tonight. Like pretty much all over my equipment. Upstairs neighbor shows up just after midnight, stomping all round acting all aggressive, goes into making mad noise, and I immediately reached for the cables. First filtered thought was I should wait till tomorrow, when I'm of a sound mind, then I was like, 'what would Gandhi do.' So, I snipped the plastic fastener to the cables, attached to the seemingly recyclable box, and I connected the thing-a-ma-gigs to the speakers. At first I didn't have it set right, then I plugged the other speaker into the outlet... Then boom, then silence above, then boom, then silence above. Then boom, then respect. Anytime they got outta line, at least tonight, I would hit them with that boom. It's seriously amazing how they shut the fuck up with a quickness. It's like a JBL Bluetooth mono speaker meets a DJ system. Funny thing is, one of my speakers is somewhat blown, yet it still shits on their 'setup.' I've tried, repeatedly, to be nice to these fools, but unfortunately this the only thing they've responded to. And damn if it's not fuckin' rewarding.
  5. Long story short, I had to order the cables online, thus they won't be here till next week. With regards to my upstairs neighbors, they've actually been quiet (for the most part) ever since I created this thread. In any event though, I'll be prepared next week. This whole ordeal may have been a blessing because I really need/want to start playing out loud. I've done so on my decks over the years, but only once on my drum machine and never on my keyboard. Been learning the keys for the last couple years, so haven't really wanted to share the learning experience with my neighbors.
  6. Will do. About to head to Guitar Center in a couple hours to pick up said cables. To be somewhat fair, I won't begin blasting until they start getting loud. Lately, the dude upstairs has been playing super annoying podcasts late at night, at a pretty high volume. Traditionally, I would just talk to them about any issues, but I've kinda been on their ass lately about other stuff, and well, I don't want to keep coming down on them. Ideally, I want to keep the peace, but not if they're gonna be rude AF. I don't think they're doing it intentionally, I just think they're ignorant.
  7. Oh, and the dude definitely sucks on the guitar. He's been practicing for at least 3 years, yet he completely sucks. No patterns, no direction, just random strumming like some hapless hippie on the hill. I can't wait to go to Guitar Center tomorrow and purchase the cables I need to connect my audio interface to my speakers. Checkmate motherfucker!!!
  8. So, I have these upstairs neighbors who are loud as shit. I always try to be the quiet one, ideally leading by example, but that's evidently not working. Especially lately. Tomorrow night though, they're getting it. I've been here going on three years, and up until now, I've only been playing in my headphones. Tomorrow night though, that's totally changing. We're talking, drum machine, keys and skratching....out fuckin' loud. And if they try and match my sound level, it's not going to happen. Annnnnd, I'm in the market for some serious outdoor PA speakers that are loud AF. Fortunately, the landlord is already on my side....they said that they (my upstairs neighbors) have no common sense and are basically clueless. I've tried to be nice to these fucks, but tomorrow no more. Fuck inconsiderate people.
  9. Yeah, this is dope for sure. Only listened to one track 'cause I gotta bounce, but will check it out in detail later. Nice work thus far.
  10. Nice one Steve, I will likely implement that code for Firefox.

  12. Damn, RIP The 45 King. Dude has a dope Boiler Room set from about 9 years ago on YouTube. Definitely worth watching. Rest in Paradise player!
  13. Yeah, my Ad Blockers are working well thus far, but will prolly oblige should YouTube attempt to shut my shit down. I live on YT for both entertainment and education (namely web design/development stuff). However, they have definitely gotten out of control with increasing ads and obnoxiousness. I feel they're ramping it up to annoy people to the point of paying. It's pretty fucked, so they kinda deserve ad blockers...but not the content creators. I would sign up for the Premium solution, but not if they're terrorizing me to do so.
