No torque

I'd guess the torq is down to the strength of the motor, i don't think its something you can improve really... without replacing the motor, which is probably unique to that turntable and not interchangeable. The higher end stantons are a different design all together....

I'd get a different deck, vestax pdx models are available 2nd hand for £100-£150 normally...

 

One thing you could try is getting Slip Sheets from dr susuki, theyll reduce the friction of the slip mat, maybe youll get away with that....

A reall chap way of doing it (not as good) is to jse grease proof paper. You can ask the people in Subway for spare sheets :)

Sometimes the torque on old tables can be improved by taking the spindle apart and lubing it.

 

probably with a str8-80 you already have all you're gonna get though.
