danswift
Frank Sinatra has just been on the car radio, what an utter cunt he is.Has there ever been a bigger cunt in the entire history of showbiz ?I seriously doubt it..what an angry, hateful, misogynistic shitbag he truly was. Stories of his unpleasant behaviour are legendary, read this for starters (jump to 'reporting career') https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxine_CheshireAll of his music is fucking hideous apart from Sid's version of My Way which is terrific, simply for the reason it contains the line "you cunt i'm not a queer". I hope Sinatra had a severe choking fit on his minestrone soup when he heard it. You selfish bastard, Frank...why weren't you eating the veal parmigiana at the time instead ? Just listen to the old wooden headed turd singing in that horrible boastful manner he specialised in..it's not even singing in fact, more like 'enthusiastic talking'."Ho,ho,ho who's got the last laugh now ?" Well actually its me you motherfucker because you're dead and buried..Fuck you Frankie,I would have loved to have kicked your mean stinking ass and smashed you in the guts.Fuck you.

joeClockwork
That 'talk singing' style was used by people like Telly Savalas and William Shatner to disguise the fact that they couldn't sing. In fact it's a good technique to use if you ever find yourself in a no-way-out karaoke situation, where you're forced to sing something awful like Club Tropicana to a room full of drunkards. Fortunately I've never had to do this. I've just read the Maxine Cheshire bit

DJ Rock Well
This thread is making me want to start my own Beatles one I'm not into Frank either, although I would've quite liked to have lived the life he and other Ratpack members did in Vegas on the 50s (when it was small and lawless and they lived like kings). So to sum up this thread so far, we're the middle generation - as such we don't like what the kids are into or what our parents/grandparents likes either. I'm no different, but I also think if it was any other way it would be weird... it's the natural order of life, but few seem to recognise it. For instance, my grandmother liked crooners like Frank, my dad liked blues and my grandmother couldn't believe he listen to such "tuneless dirge" and my dad thought she was crazy. But when I came along with my rap music, my dad hated it and just couldn't see how our situation was exactly the same as his once was with my grandmother. I mean, I hate mumble rap too. It's the antithesis of the creative, lyrically complex sound I grew up on. But maybe that's the point? Wouldn't it be weirder if every kid just liked the same music as their previous generations? FFS if this was the case, all teenagers would still be listening to Frank.
djdiggla
Frank Sinatra had perfect pitch did he? He pretty much is just talking tho. I never really got his music. It's so... IDK the word even. Weird. The bad boy rat pack stuff is interesting though.
djdiggla
This thread is making me want to start my own Beatles one Tell me about it. I'm not much for the Beatles. Their solo stuff I could get into but as a group I feel like I'm listening to children play the kazoo. Feels rigid as fuck and corny.

I don't even know who Frank Sinatra is, well I have heard of him of course and if you sang a few of his songs to me I'd probably recognise them, but I can't think of one track name... All I can tell you now is he is oap esque and I wont like it. Hahaha. I was going to keep my spitefull oppinions to myself, but then Rockwell mentioned he was from Ratpack. So, for everytime I have looked for Ratpack (Everson Allen & Lipmaster Mark) and your drossy garbage comes up instead, heres a massice fuck you, fuck you up your shitter, dry. Cunts! This also applies to the band Bad Company. You may have come up with the name first, but you're still shit. The real Bad Company (the d'n'b group) shouldn't be contaminated with this shit coming up in searches either!

Rollin
I actually like pretty much all the music my dad likes. And he likes all the music his mum liked.Which took me a bit of getting into, but when you put it in context (in a group singing around a piano), it's the nuts. I can only think of one exception, an artist I just can not understand what the f anyone sees in him. Yep, Frank Sinatra.

danswift
I would have fucked his daughter in those boots though !!!Not in the orthopaedic ones with matching surgical stockings she wears nowadays though, I hope.. Frank Sinatra AKA 'Old Spew Eyes' was also an honoury tribal chief btw . Specifically, 'The Order Of The Leopard' which is the highest honour in Bophuthatswana, the former republic in apartheid era South Africa. The people of Bophutthatswana had a beautiful motto for their country which more or less translates as 'if we stand together and work hard, we will be blessed with rain'. I love that, it's truly hopeful. Then they let fucking Frank into their country to give them all a sonic golden shower . The title, interestingly enough, was bestowed upon him by the nations president Lucas Mangope, as a deep show of gratitude for performing in concert at the much maligned, and later boycotted Sun City casino for a fee of $1.6 million . It gets better...I mean worse. Shortly afterwards In 1994 Sinatra was given a legend award at the Grammy's. Guess who presented the award for 'greatest living corpse' ? Yep, none other than that utter shitbox Bono, or O'nob the man who wants to save the downtrodden of the world before they attack him and steal his millions and do it for themselves as he's known to my close family members. heres what the 'rock n roll statesman' and saviour of the human race had to say for his stinking self while presenting the award to Sinatra. "The chairman of the bad attitude..rock n roll plays it tough but this guys the boss ..the chairman of boss..im not going to mess with him ..are you ? You cretin Bono..you and your insincere celebrity friends ''ain't gonna play Sun City'' ? no, you just played yourself instead like a massive tosser you transparent fraud. Fuck you Bono and fuck the Grammy's too. That's shitbiz for you folks...not showbiz .

Which is also, oddly enough, the motto of the met office. My only contribution to this is that i had a friend who's dj name was Frank Spinatra, though i don't like him either and also think the Beatles are somewhat over rated, and while their cultural impact was huge, their impact on music and music technology was over stated, if that helps. Though the Beatles did influence Can so i can't hate on them that much.

danswift
he may have personality issues, but he sure makes good music IMHO.Yeah ,I've probably been a bit harsh on the old rat faced tosspot in this thread cause Frank Sinatra actually saved my life once. I was getting pounded by his goons in the parking lot of the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas when Frank stepped in and said "Ok...that's enough boys" His speaking voice sounded exactly like his singing voice too, weird... I wasn't expecting that!
djdiggla
I like his personalty better than his music. Seems like a crazy and cool dude aside from any wife-beating shit... I don't know a shit ton about him so throwing that out.
