Chris
If I'm writing a post and put some character formatting in it, I could be a paragraph down but if I backspace it jumps back up to the formatted text. Weird...
Steve
There are browser-specific quirks with the rich text editor unfortunately.

Steve
If it's fucking up and preventing you from adding formatting, the best thing to do is press the "toggled editing mode" button and use BBCode to add the formatting manually. It's more of a ball ache, but at least it should work.
Steve
BTW, if you write out the specifics of exactly how to replicate the issue, including what browser you're using, I will report it to Invision. If you have time, it would be good if you did actually, cos the more bugs they fix, the better.
Chris
sure: Safari 6. If any text is set to bold, italic, superscript, subscript, strikethrough, etc, then backspacing from anywhere on the page takes you back to the formatted text. It doesn't matter whether you use the icons or the keyboard shortcuts to format the text. I'll test this in other browsers when I get a chance. Steve
It doesn't do it in Opera, but there are other quirks that occur in Opera. I've reported the Safari issue anyway. I'll let you know what they say.
