DJ Rock Well
100% inspired by Jon's Arcee thread... It got me thinking about how especially in the record shop days you found the records you found and that's it. We all had a few of those random indie releases interspersed amongst the well known stuff that just a normal part of the musical landscape as you knew it, usually within your social group too by default. With (let's be honest) quite a bit of the indie stuff during the late 90s boom being a bit mediocre, I swear some of these tracks became 'your ones' just because you found them and got to know them before others. Anyway, post up any random independent hip hop releases (songs or albums) that you once had on heavy rotation. This was one of mine. Even back then I liked the beats more than the rappers, and both don't sound quite as sharp as they used to... But Spinners at 21:08, Seven at 37:51 and Day One at 42:42 are still bangers to me!
