Probably a dated and noob question...

I have some XLRs that I have used for Rane for quite some time. I don't really gig out that often, so my setup doesn't really move..

However, I have gigged recently, and noticed that my XLRs fit very loose in my mixer as well as my speakers. It would produce this really loud static sound and the volume would decrease intermittently..

I ended up messing with some borrowed XLRs that fit tighter... didnt have any issues really.

My question is, are there other metrics for XLRs that fit differently? Is there a specific brand I should check out?

Neutrik NC3 series connectors are deservedly the industry standard. Accept no substitutes.
